I’m self employed and do not pay for health care anymore. It’s not that i can’t afford it, it’s that I refuse to pay what amounts to a second mortgage for something I never use. Health care today is nothing more than a monetary redistribution scheme and I will not be a part of it. This will be the first year that I will have to pay the penalty and I plan to compensate by finding extra write offs, frick them.

I have a six figure income with a wife that works part time and have four kids. I pay cash for medical visits and have had two emergency room visits this year and when I tell them it will be private pay the bill is cut in half. I take my would be second mortgage payment and put it into a separate account for medical visits.

Now, honestly I do not feel comfortable not having insurance if something major happens and i am faced with a large medical bill, but I do feel comfortable that I can work out a payment plan if that were to happen and still have more in my pocket every month than getting raped by this BS Obummer scam called health care.

It’s shameful that healthcare is not free for everyone in this country. If other countries with less than half our GDP can figure it out, why can’t we?

More and more people will start doing this.
It's part of the plan to have the ACA collapse and usher in Single Payer (Universal Healthcare).

Good for you though. It makes so much more sense.

Obamacare is a tax on the middle class and upper class to subsidize the lower income bracket's crappy healthcare.
That's just it though... they pay nothing but still get huge deductibles and no access. So the only people who win are insurance companies. Total horseshite

First, we have too many unemployed, etc.
Second, there are thousands of people employed in the medical field that are used to unnecessarily high incomes, all paid for by people's insurances in the past. It has been gluttony. $1000 for an MRI to check to see why your tummy hurts? Why not? Insurance pays for it. People get six figures on commission just to sell one of those MRI machines to a clinic.
If we go to a gov't controlled health care, there will be extreme limits placed on what constitutes the need to use an MRI. Thus, the medical field does not want to have thier cash cow taken away.

Same idea with a flat tax and how tax attorneys, accountants, etc. don't want that.

Are serious Clark? Just like Medicare and Medicaid we have billions of dollars of unauthorized & fraudulent expenditures each year so now we will have pricing limits under ACA? Not a fricking chance in hell that happens my friend.

Have you considered employing your wife for a small amount and getting a group policy?
