Host cities/countries are chosen on who has the best bribes. Same as the Olympics. I thought this was common knowledge.

True to a degree. But accepting a bid to put the WC in a hot arse desert country is a step beyond.

Hence why so much of FIFA’s leadership got busted for corruption after that.

Those Argentines from the mid 80's to mid 90's were off the hook crazy...some are still out doing damage. I was in Dallas for the WC in '94 and went to a bar on Lower Greenville the night before Argentina and Romania played. Those dudes were out of hand.

I can honestly say that I was in the same bar with Claudio Caniggia twice. Once in Dallas in 94 and then in Buenos Aries in 2013. Both times he was out of hand and FUBAR'd.He got so torn up in Dallas that he could not play the next day. With him and Maradona out ( some sort of FIFA violation) Argentina lost.

.....But the women were soooooo hot. Just beautiful.

I've been to Doha and Dubai. I felt more safe in those cities than any place I've ever been in the United States.

Started cracking up when i saw the mall as a must place to visit. Im sure its a great mall, no doubt, but theres something funny about flying all the way to the middle east with all the amazing history to go and visit a mall.

Cool guide but edged though I'm not a drinker I would never go to a place with such draconian laws against it.

On a serious note, I did bet $1 on Scotland to win it all. If they do I win just over $1000.

Scotland didn’t even qualify

To be fair, the US is getting 75% of the games including the entirety of the quarterfinals through finals. Not to mention they increased the size of the tournament

If you want to go to a world cup you’d have to be pretty retarded to go to Qatar for it with all their bullshite when the next one is in the US.

Qatar doesn’t really have history.

IIRC, the skyline there changes regularly because they keep tearing down and putting up stuff. It is considered the Disneyland of the region.

It still messes with my head that Qatar is smaller than Connecticut.

Can't wait for the inevitable US dumbass to get caught trying to sneak alcohol in the country and then beg us to get him out of jail.

Meh alcohol isn't fully outlawed there so don't think that'll be too big a deal
