And did you get your money from it? Was it for a violent crime, theft, something else?

No, but I always told my friends that if they ever did something stupid and ended up on a crime stoppers ad I would call them, snitch, and get them a few packs of noodles for commissary.

Not to crime stoppers, but I did report a poacher (spot lighting deer) to state game wardens a couple years ago.

Back in high school I did.

Kid was smoking weed under one of the big tables in a lab class.

He was gonna get caught but I wanted that $100. I don't care if someone smokes but he was being a dumbass.

Yes!

I use to own two restaurants and around 2003 there was a string of armed robberies. I was one of the unfortunate ones to get robbed. When the crime stoppers segment aired on the news I recognized the guy from a bad check he had written some weeks earlier at the same location he robbed. Not only did the check have his current address, he also gave his current cell phone number on the order form.

Called crime stoppers with the NSF check and the desert order form. Got my reward shortly after his conviction. I think it was $1,200. Paid in cash.

Over the course of my career we had somewhere between 8 and 10 break-in's or robberies. Only two were ever solved. This was one of them.

In middle school some bastards thought they were going to be cute and called crime stoppers on me, so I got called in to the principle's office mid way through my ILEAP exam to have my property searched as well as stripping down into a gown to be patted down.

I got on the bus that evening to go home and those lil bastards were laughing at me because they thought it was funny.

When I got home I dialed 344-STOP and reported the two kids were passing out drugs on the bus. the police searched them the next day and BAM! they didn't think they was cute no more and I had a fat Benjamin waiting at the bank for my mom to pick up for me.

I witnessed(walked outside right after it happened and watched victim die) and solved a murder in my apartment complex. Hours after the body was removed and cops long gone. I found something in the grass that was clearly related to the murder and called the cops back out. Killer's DNA was on the item I found.

I didn't get anything for it. But it felt good.

Snitches get stitches, gnome.

So, a question for any of you rats that got paid. How do they pay you and still let you remain anonymous? I assume it's cash, but how do they pay you without someone seeing you and knowing your face? I've always been curious how all callers will remain anonymous.

I still remember Lafayette Crimestoppers' number from watching TV when I was a kid. 232-TIPS
