Experienced it all my life. Was very terrifying as a child. As I got older I started being able to remain calm in that state and some very wierd shite started happening. I would hear and feel a buzzing in my head and suddenly feel weightless..and feels like I'm floating around my room. Anyone else experience that sensation?

Twice and it freaked me out both times. I know people tell you not to panic but damn it's hard not to if it doesn't happen to you regularly.

Twice for me. Years apart, but scary AF. Neurologist told me most people experience it at least once in life.

Yes. Several times, but not in a number of years.

I have never had the pleasure. I hear about it from people but I’ve never been given the opportunity to see what it’s like firsthand.

It happened to me the other night. I felt like I could not speak or move I was trying to yell for help in my dream I was being attacked when I finally came to I just let out a long growl. Then I ended up going back to sleep two hours later I wake up at 3 o’clock in the morning having an anxiety attack, heart racing cold sweats mind racing couldn’t get comfortable shite was just crazy. Went took a Xanax and then finally about an hour and a half later I got a little bit of sleep often on but I had to get up out of bed at 7:30

Yes, as I awakened from a 3 hr nap and laying in the rear seat of a van while traveling. . Woke up and could not move at all. After about a minute I could move. Very strange.

I have heard of this but have never looked up exactly what is considered sleep paralysis. But this is what has happened to me in the past. I will wake or so it seems I am awake but I am not really it sorta seems like I am dreaming, but I am dreaming that I am awake and can't move. I try and try and try to move but can't, finally after working up to almost a panic I am able to force myself awake and move. Instantly for a few seconds I am disoriented and very confused. I think this is sleep paralysis but I have been able to figure it out for sure.

Yes I had it one time in college. Woke up and couldn’t move, felt like someone was holding me down and there was a dark figure standing in the corner of the room. I dont remember falling back asleep but I remember waking up in the morning and freaking the frick out.

I have experienced probably 15 or so episodes of sleep paralysis. Sometimes it’s seemed harmless, other times it’s seemed extremely sinister.
The worst was roughly a week after my brother-in-law died and my wife had gone to my mother-in-law’s so that she wouldn’t be alone. I stayed behind because I had to work but I woke up one night and I saw him standing in the doorway to the bedroom; he was a very pale white except for his eyes and mouth, which were pitch black. There were 3 other figures with him, except they were very thin and tall. He tried to speak, but the other figures put their hands on his shoulders and began to move him away. It wasn’t a struggle, he went with them willingly, but his shoulders slumped and he looked back at me once more right before they disappeared. As I regained my ability to move and sprang out of bed, they were gone. That still haunts me. I have never told anyone about that, except for just now. I never wanted to freak out my wife so I just kept it to myself.
Sleep paralysis fricking sucks sometime.

I haven’t had it in a long time but I used to get sleep paralysis so much I knew what was going on when it happened and felt in control despite not being able to move.

I’ve had it my whole life, always when I lay on my back or when I fall asleep extremely tired. The fastest way to break out is to think about holding your breath. Once you consciously start doing that, your body will wake itself up needing air.

I get this every so often. A good trick to snap out of it is to wiggle your toes
