Nope. It's still basically the same as a bad flu but is being treated as though it's the black plague.

I had it. I’m still huffing at night when I try to go to sleep. Feels like I have sleep apnea at 185 lbs and 21 y/o. I’m still saying that we shouldn’t be locking down. It’s fricking moronic to shut our nation down and shows no fricking resolve. This should be an opportunity to man up and reclaim our standing but we are too worried about what the prime minster of Luxembourg and a blue haired twat on Twitter thinks.
ETA: I’m an extreme case and my symptoms have been improving. Shocking, I know.

I played along until I noticed no one was dying of anything other than covid... so like 2 hours.

Yeah, I have. I would have thought we would be past this bullshite 6 months ago. I don’t see an end in sight anymore. But to be fair, I’m not looking anymore

Where do y’all live where life hasn’t mostly gone back to normal? I’ve been back in the office since September. Restaurants here have been able to open since mid summer. Bars are open, shopping malls are open. Most places I go have even gotten pretty relaxed about enforcing masks. Sure, there are still some closings and inconveniences, but where I am I have not really seen any lockdown since April or May of last year. Restaurants are still slow here as many people are making the choice to not go out.

We’re not supposed to pay attention to Covid coverage from March till November.... that was necessary /S
It feels like the media bit off more than they can chew and are now just rolling with it.

Well...my Uncle was put in the hospital with it this weekend when his blood ox level dropped. I know 3 people who have died from it over the last year. So, no. Mine hasn't changed.
Were you, your uncle, or any of the unfortunate folks that have passed made aware of the availability and extreme success of the monoclonal antibody infusion treatment?
If not, you should ask yourself why this treatment hasn't been shouted from the rooftops and remains, largely, underutilized.
If you or someone you know get sick...request this treatment. You have to meet criteria to get it, unfortunately, but being 65+ is one of them.

It’s not back to normal until it’s normal. It’ll never get there until we don’t consider masks and 15% capacity “normal”.

Catching Covid a year into it is such a simp move

Well, the only people with clout who would want people to survive COVID are a apart of a certain political party. The other party loves to pin COVID deaths on the other party. The best you can do is hope you are in a certain color state when it comes to receiving the most treatments you possibly can.
ETA: I didn’t mention any parties or groups by name. But if you can connect the dots and feel offended, then wear the fricking boot because it fits.

You mean back when many experts predicted ~250k deaths and people called them hyperbolic, yet now we stand at 500k deaths?
Its going to kill susceptible people until the end of time like every other virus. Putting a number on deaths is silly
Its ridiculous bullshite

No one considers them worthless humans. We just don’t think that people who are not at the same level of risk should be shutdown. Anyone at 70 who wants the world to stop for them is a POS. People who are at high risk should stay home. We will have more tax dollars to subsidize them, and we will send them fruit baskets while not destroying our economy. Is that enough?

That we shouldn't destroy people's lives for a virus that doesn't do shite to the overwhelming majority of the population?
If you're at risk, stay home, wear a mask if that's your thing, and practice social distancing and strict hygiene.
Let everyone else live their life.

No, but my hatred towards the sheep that are now wearing two masks grows daily.

And they are the reason these stupid fricking mandates are still in place, because the minute any government decides to remove the mandates they'll scream bloody murder.
Hell, I work with two people who wear their masks at all times in our office. Both were overheard ranting about how the mask mandate wasn't put in place fast enough here in Columbia, and how the police should be enforcing it with jail time.
Those type of people are nothing more than religious zealots, and nothing will change their mind.

Science is a crapshoot getting refined.
Yes, I'm well aware.

We should never relinquish rights over something a scientist says until the scientific method is fully realized. And especially when we have a 100 years of scientific viral research that shouldn’t just be thrown out.
The disturbing part is the idea that there needs to be "scientific consensus" and consensus is absolutely a good thing, combined with media, social media, politicians, and "actual" scientists trying to silence legitimate opposing scientific opinions because they don't conform to the current groupthink.
You've got actual scientists being shouted down as quacks (Atlas, Kulldorf, etc.) and a freaking MBA being held up as Biden's expert (Andy Slavitt).
