I never heard of them. I may be taking a last minute trip and this came up as an option at a reasonable rate.

They are like a government sponsored version of Spirit Airlines.

They fly several routes that the government provides subsidies for something called essential air routes.

They're probably most notorious as being threatened to Jussie Smollet, "This is Sun Country!"

My son plays college football. Team charters them. He says great experience.

We used them to fly to Minnesota. They were fine, nothing special.

Not horrible, but definitely a budget airline.

Is that the airline when you call them and ask when the next flight leaves for any destination they ask you, "What time can you get here?"

Now that Spirit is gone you better be ready to fight at a moments notice.

I've flown them but it's been a good while. They've been around a long time, since the 80s.

Allegiant bought them/merged last year. I’m assuming about the same no frills airline, which is fine.

Beau Rivage uses them to charter flights from locations all around the South to Gulfport/Biloxi.

I flew a team charter on Sun Country once. It was okay.

When we got back to the team's home city after the game, the crew offered us a flight back to our city of origin. Maybe eight or ten people on the whole plane, including crew. That thing went straight up on take off.
