Someone needs to cart out Nash's old maps. The New Orleans meteorologists are jokes when it comes to Hurricane forecasting. Nash made them look like fools with his marker for George.

Water vapor imagery shows dry air to the west. Harvey seems to be handling it with ease so far, but perhaps it could hamper the development.

No worries for the U.S. mainland which is good.... Mexico is gonna get fricking slammed...... looks like nothing that is gonna do damage to this storm as far as strength.

Man it's cut off most of that dry air and it's not a big plume of it either. I don't see it hampering strengthening much.

Plans now are for all staff to check in with me Sunday morning. When we flood, I generally have a handful of employees unable to reach the office, but 2 of those are physicians living in Montrose and Memorial. We usually stay open with a skeleton crew and any docs that can make it in. But it's always so fluid that planning is difficult. I've also heard nothing from the buildings administration, so everything looks to be staying open.

12z GFS initialized @ 1002mb, yet still takes Harvey down to 937 mb before landfall. That's concerning to say the least.

OP's title should be updated, no longer a strict flooding potential. Something along the lines of Major Hurricane would be appropriate

Flooding is the most dangerous aspect of this storm. No one gives a shite if it's a little gusty
