How fast can they get them off? I have no one/know no one on a rig but for previous evacuations we could hear them flying in and out ... I'm about 10 miles from the coast and not far from where they take off.

almost a certainty, CC to freeport to Houston has a handful of massive plants.

Dow in freeport is going to get hammered by this

Yep...they stacked with plants from Houston to Brownsville....and lots of oil just sitting in barges waiting to be offloaded.

Well from what I understand depending on the distance from the pick up point on land, you can either use a boat or a chopper. I remember Freeport using both.

Not sure about Shell or the others.

I only come to these threads for Rummel, RDS or the other weather fellow. What was their last post concerning this storm?

Latest air pressure readings indicate Harvey very rapidly intensifying. There are no weather conditions such as dry air, shear or cool water to weaken Harvey.

It seems absolutely certain that Harvey will make landfall as a major hurricane. If I'm not mistaken it's been a few years since this has happened.

Might want to reconsider since he was posting maps that were 24 hours old yesterday.

I feel like the same Houston folks that are screwed every time it floods are likely screwed again. West U, Montrose, Northwest side, Meyerland, etc...

The med center/NRG area, where I am, is going to get its brand new drainage system seriously tested.

Intensification so rapid now that Harvey could skip Cat 1 and go directly to Cat 2 when it officially becomes Hurricane Harvey.
