We remain at diminished pump capacity. If system as strong as predicted, we would see some localized flooding even at full capacity

This is really not acceptable during hurricane season in NO. How the F*** does this happen? (rhetorical ?)

Jesus, is it already time for the first cutting?

EDIT: Yeah, I guess it is late August.

historically Euro has been "more" correct. Which would put a potential Cat1/2 landing anywhere in between cameron and pecan island

I have no dog in this fight since I've never even been to Louisiana and have no family there, but this is absolutely insane and unacceptable.

I dont understand how they can even predict that amount of rain at this point...where are they getting this info?

This 7:00 am rainfall projection update had N.O. creeping into the 6-10 inches category. I think it might have even moved a bit eastward at 10:00.

I assume this is what he's going on.

Our 1250 acres were done yesterday ... hoping those not done can get it in. I know my guys are willing to help anyone who needs it ... it SUCKS to be the one needing and you can't find anyone! At least we're done and the grain is in the bins .. should anything happen the insurance on that is WAY better than crop insurance while it's in the field. The guy my husband is helping today got totally screwed I think last year in the floods ... $9000 premium and he got $13,000 insurance relief but he lost >>>>>> more than that. #sucks

NWS has New Orleans with between 5-8 inches in their QPF forecast over the next 7 days. How much of that falls at once is anyone's guess at this point.

This is the current GFS run with total rainfall through 5 days:

tke .. well considering we're not far from Pecan Island, having food and water won't hurt and it won't ever go to waste should we NOT need it.

Thanks.

Slack, do y'all trust that GFS?? If yes, our rice farmers gotta do what they can quickly here. My husband and son are helping another farmer at the moment get their remaining crop in. It's been us trying to beat the clock before -- a combine coming down the road to help us was a Godsend.

If rainfall is the primary concern for the farmers, then the chances are there for a pretty good amount of it in south central to SW LA.
