plotted a course to the hospital that all resources say is clear for us. I'm going to test it tomorrow morning
True story: Baby #3 for me .. I went into labor at ~ 11:30 pm on Tuesday. Mild contractions and water was breaking. I got to the hospital right before 1 am and was like 4 cm and she was born at 1:28am on Wednesday. Had it been lunchtime, she'd have been born at an intersection.
My point?? DO NOT WAIT ... I'd be sleeping at the hospital somewhere .. in a chair or whatever given the situation with flooding.
Good luck!

"In 2009, Addicks and Barker advanced to the Corps' worst safety classification, rating a 1"

Why are some of these folks being rescued in knee deep water?
Walk out

I'd love to be there. This is #3 for us too. 2 toddlers at a hospital during a major weather event seems like a no go. And our regular babysitters are going through some things right now.

Did y'all have to exit down Sienna Parkway?
I live right by the main swimming pool at sienna ranch/sienna spring intersection in one of the cheapo rent houses. How did it look (if you drove through there)?
We left at about 11:30 and there was no high water on the street around or leading to my house.
Just trying to know what I should mentally prepare for.
Also, where are you getting your info? I'm trying to follow along to see when we can go back.

Not sure. I don't live there. But I would think I would walk out to a popular area. If nothin then walk back

Is West University Place homes flooding? Zip Code 77005. Particularly near Wesleyan St and University Blvd

This guy is sharp . Wish LA had more officials like him. Probably never would have to leave

I think the problem for many is that they're surrounded by water. There's no where to walk to except more water. So they call and stay inside until someone arrives.

It was in the streets yesterday shouldn't be as bad today.

Judge Robert Hebert is a very impressive individual.

He made the danger pretty clear. Beyond scary.

Don't think so. Just some minor street flooding but nothing in the houses there.

Danilo,
The city said some took on water. Most of that area had heavy street flooding yesterday like most of the neighborhood. It's stayed there until this morning. I live near there and did not see water but did not go looking for it either.

RDS, can you send a link to the weather blog that you post on?
I'd like to have a spot to read just forecasts for the storm.
Thanks for all that you all have done in the past week. It is much appreciated.
