That hype is how he got 200,000 followers.
This guy needs to watch his arse.
I could tell the first time I saw something from there shared that he wasn't legit and the guy is doing independent forecasting.

fricking CBS news just said Texas could see "11 trillion gallons of water".
I hate those ridiculous huge shock numbers that no one can comprehend.

Watson got 32" in 36 hours. That was the biggest total for the BR area from the August flood.
Yeah, Baton Rouge's official gauge (I assume at the airport?) didn't quite get to 20" during the August flooding. Some localized areas might have broken that though... it sure feels like it rained that much.

GEAUX am I reading that data right? They saw 119.7 mph winds???

Here in kingwood power goes out easily anyway.

quote: What did Baton Rouge get last August in the flood? 30 inches? It wasn't quite that much. I believe I've heard reports of about 20-21 inches in 24 hrs.
It was more that the quantity of rain was so widespread along river corridors than just the quantity of rain. One of the storms (Gustav I think) I had 21" at my house in hammond and my streets never flooded. We got about 16" in August and water got within 6' of my doorstep and half my subdivision flooded.

Not trying to advertise, but Stormcast. We used to be Gulf Coast Weather. Our lead met/founder is Zack Fradella, he was on air at KPLC. We've been around since 2005 after Katrina when the WWLTV forums shut down.

Yeah.. our Facebook page only has 40,000 followers, and we grow at a slower rate.. cause we have actual meteorologists that post and we dont over hype.
I agree with this. I don't post but been lurking since y'all went online. Posted on the WWL site before and during Katrina. A lot of solid and very useful info.

We lived in a high rise in Houston a few years ago near Brays Bayou and Hwy 288. Went to bed one night with a drizzling rain, woke up to 288 looking like a river. As the water started to recede there were cars and even semis that started showing up. They had at least 5 or 6 people that drowned at different places in the city.
If they get the rain they're predicting, you may not be able to get there. If you go, be really careful.

starting to take on a more classic structure. The structure hasn't caught up to the intensity through this point... but it may get there soon.

I really meant the greater area. The rental house I was living in at the time barely got any rain, and there was no backflow near me.

No, that was Gustav and Ike, we have a hall of fame section on our site that has threads from our most notable tropical, severe, and winter events.
We are primarily a Louisiana/Ms/Al site, so it'll depend how much this affects Louisiana.
