Be safe Houstoners.

The skies in DFW have a very odd tint to them this morning.

What would cause winds speeds to be below what they should with those pressures?

Oh I know Geaux. When I saw a post that my SIL shared the other day I was like there's no way a legitimate meteorologist is putting out that type of language in official comments. Checked it out and it's just some dude in Prairieville with a blog site.

Wind speeds take a lil while to follow pressures.

It wasn't quite that much. I believe I've heard reports of about 20-21 inches in 24 hrs

Think about that - twice the rain that Livingston got in what was a 500 yr event.

Watson got 32" in 36 hours. That was the biggest total for the BR area from the August flood.

Any idea of how long things may be screwed up in Houston? I will be traveling to Arizona, and was planning to stop in Houston for the night next Sunday, the third. I was planning to stay over off of Hammerly, near the intersection with Campbell. Anyone know if that is an area that usually floods pretty bad? Just trying to figure out if I should make alternate plans. Thanks.

If the black line for the second landfall is simply the median of the tracks, can see how Lafayette/BR could end up with an issue if it takes one of those eastern-most paths.

Yeah.. our Facebook page only has 40,000 followers, and we grow at a slower rate.. cause we have actual meteorologists that post and we dont over hype.

The black line isn't a median.. it's just the operational run. Notice most ensemble members are to the right of the operational run.
