I have a hard time saying no. To the point I will take on too much shite and half arse things to get them done slightly late.

My biggest weakness is procrastination; I procrastinate because deep down I’m terrified of failing, and sort of a perfectionist. Took a hell of a lot longer than I’m proud of to come to this realization. Sure woulda saved me a lot of misery and heartache that’s for damn sure.

Well, first of all, I’m too humble to know I’m perfect.

I’m intelligent, supportive, funny...

I’m romantic and courageous...

I’ve got a good body, but I don’t have to look in the mirror every two minutes.

I’m kind and sensitive and gentle, I’m not afraid to cry in front of Mrs. Füt....

I like animals and children and I’ll change poopy diapers...

Oh, and I play an instrument, and I love my mother.

That I’m on the downslope for life. Appearance, energy, intellect, fertility, everything. I need to appreciate my life as it is today. Every day.

Alcohol abuse from 19-20 dropped my IQ into the 140s.

I make mistakes I never would have made in my teens.

I wear my emotions on my sleeve, meaning I have a temper and unintentionally talk down to people/have a condescending tone in normal speech more than I ever noticed until my son started exhibiting that to an extent, and I knew for damn sure he didn't get it from his mom.

I've improved those a lot due to the kids. It may be too late for my first little a-hole, but his younger siblings may be OK.

Well after page 5 of this thread, and upvoting about 3 or 4 posts per page, I realized quite a few hard truths about myself.

Only on the OT can you read about others’ flaws, leading you to consider all your own flaws. But rather than feel down, you don’t feel as bad because you realize you’re not the only one.

Hear me out on this but for the longest time I thought that I was one ugly and unlikable S.O.B who would never amount to much in life. Long story short, turned out it was the people that I had surrounded myself with and within this group I had experienced the "crabs in a bucket" phenomenon. After High School, when I had decided to improve myself and distancing myself from their calls "you're going to fail" and "it's all a waste of time" did I realize how much of a difference your "social group" determines the "point of reference" in your life.

I live in an area now where the median household income is $100K+ and the absolute majority of people that I interact within my neighborhood are genuinely happy and extremely positive. It is still a bit of a shock for me as most people start a general chit-chat conversation about something positive rather than a negative topic. True they could still be facing some personal dilemma within their personal lives but carrying a positive attitude has greatly affected their personal outcomes.

Maybe I am completely full of BS but the hard truth that I have come to grips with is that how you to react to your circumstances will determine your outcome. I wasn't born into money or granted extra privileges entering a college but sheer perseverance and determination has allowed me to be where I am. The thing that you must truly ask yourself is "Why shouldn't I be able do those things?"

I’m a very cold person. I’ll give and donate all day long but I can’t seem to grasp feelings for anyone with a hardship.

I’m very materialistic and self centered.

I’m a loner. I have a very small group of friends whom I love dearly but I’d rather be left alone the majority of the time.

I even find myself wondering about eventually filing for divorce and moving back to Colorado and just do whatever I want/start over.

If I get into my head on difficult things it’s hard to get out and I want to quit. Sometimes I do quit and the guilt kills me. I quit on Mt. Hood 3/4 the way up two years ago and I’ve hated myself ever since.

I’d like to think I’m a good person based on my giving and volunteering but deep down I know I’m really not.
