Looks like those Silverados have been a popular target for a while:
Per a recent report from the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB), 40,968 Chevy Silverado full-size pickups were stolen in 2020, a 25.7-percent increase compared to the year prior, the highest percentage increase of all models on the list. The most common model year stolen was the 2004 Chevy Silverado.Oct 14, 2021
The Chevy Silverado full-size pickup truck was the second most-stolen vehicle in the U.S. last year, taking the spot from the formerly second-placed Honda Civic.

And if you believe that the Silverado’s popularity as a theft target is a recent phenomenon, you’d be wrong. The full-size Chevy truck has made the list since the NICB started publishing the Hot Wheels list in 2007. The numbers of these trucks being stolen have increased each year, also.

Where did you park it exactly? Was it in a lot managed by a parking company or on the street at a meter?

I doubt he had any say in the matter.

If that's where you parked, I'd lean towards either A) the towing company that works that lot or the Sadvocate's explanation, someone scanned your code.
I don't know how that shite works, but if you were in that type of lot, I'd find it hard to believe someone broke in and hot wired it or used the ol screwdriver.
I was just about to ask what kind of lot you parked in. I always pay a little extra to park in lots like that because I assume my truck is a little safer.

Impossible. I am told on good authority here that car theft only happens in New Orleans.

Someone had a scanning device and captured your key code when you locked the door I believe.

On Star? Tracking Device? Find My iPad/iPhone?

his a legit thing?
So the scan the code and replicate it to unlock/start the vehicle?
Yes it will. A device is out that will prevent it. You have to remove it everytime you get out or it won't work
Revelco anti theft device

ETA: already answered....Just asking the obvious here, but did you contact the lot management/owner? I've had this happen to friends. Thought vehicle was stolen, but the owner just had the vehicle removed from paid lot.
Sometimes they tow/impound "at owners cost" and don't put boot on or ticket. Might be a mix up with payment, putting the number in correct location, etc.

How did they find them?
Cops called saying they found them abandoned several days later.

A lot don’t surprisingly end up at chop shooed. My work truck was stolen from the office in Dallas. 6 months later cops found it an hour north. Pulled over two kids riding in it.

Wow I watched the video on how easy it is for them to steal the signal from your key fob and jack your car. That’s nuts

Just take starter relay out of it

I was grocery shopping in East Memphis yesterday, and some guy came in and said “someone just stole my truck”. He came in to buy cigarettes and was inside for 5 minutes. I ran outside to make sure my car was still there. They hit 6 or 7 different parking lots in about an hour and made off with a dozen or so vehicles.

Yep. Basically no car is safe.
Wait until some power nerd hacks some self driving vehicle in the future.

That is BS. You should be able to subscribe over the phone and have them track it.
