I'm recently divorced and I do this from time to time. You get sick of watching TV alone at your house, so I change it up. I have tried to bring friends but all of my friends are either married or have girlfriends and its an act of congress for them to get permission to go have a beer or 2. So I do a lot of things alone. I guess I need to make new friends that are single and that are not being ruled over by some fat, bossy used to be fine bitch.

I am a very social person. However, one of my great joys in life is when I travel, sitting at a bar alone and getting drunk. I highly recommend it.

Hanging out at a hotel or airport bar by myself is a very underrated gift in life. Meet random people from different places doing different things. Everyone else there is in the same boat so there's no judgment that you're drinking at 1PM or by yourself or whatever. It's great.

Ha Ha - you young turds don't know yet.

There's days when you get your arse handed to you at work and the wife/kids are waiting to kick it when you get home.

All you want is a drink and to be left the F alone, I used to stop for 1-2,3-4 all the time.

Now I work at home so I'm Fuuuuuuuuucked

So you and a couple of buddies meet up, go to a bar, and seek out and critique other men?

Congrats on being a VIP at Splash.

Since today is a snow day and I can’t get to the office, and my kids are here at the house and my wife is at work, you better believe I’ll be sitting at the bar this afternoon by myself.

I admit that back in the day I had to go out by myself sometimes. I was living in BR and most of my friends were in Thibodaux. The friends I did have in BR weren't really the "going out" type, so if I wanted to go out looking for women, I had to go alone. What made matters worse was that this was around the time that Derrick Todd Lee was on the loose, so women were all very hesitant to talk to anyone, especially a guy all alone sitting at the bar. Somehow I still managed to bed a few. I was so happy when they caught him because then business really picked up.

Invite him to your house for the super bowl. It would probably make his day.

I think most are misunderstanding my original post. I understand completely on random occasions esp when traveling going to belly up and have a couple drinks alone.

I'm talking the solo guy at the same bar nearly everyday. And not having a couple beers, but sitting there pounding mugs for 2-3 hours never attempting to talk or converse with anyone else.

I bet you're one of those type of guys that can't allow there to be a minute of silence in a car ride. Aren't you? Don't lie about it.

Does this local spot have swinging doors, a jukebox, and a barstool? Maybe he lacks that at home.
