I actually went grocery shopping on Wednesday instead of Saturday because of things I read on here and to my surprise my local Winn Dixie didn’t have a shortage on anything that I could tell, it actually looked like it was the best stocked in the last 6 weeks.!

Went to Kroger in Jackson at 4 this afternoon. No steaks. Not even spaces for them. No ground chuck although there was some ground beef. ALmost all frozen chicken and beef anything gone. Paper products gone too.
Went to Sams Tuesday around noon. No meat but for half a dozen whole ribyes. None. Nada. No paper products as well.
All the stores now have limits on purchases.

Haven’t noticed any shortage on any meat at HEB but they probably procure 80% of their meats themselves. They use local Texas suppliers and have their own meat processing plant in San Antonio.

Fresh Market in Knoxville three weeks ago limited their Tuesday specials ($2.99 fresh ground chuck per pound and same price for boneless skinless chicken breasts to five pounds each per customer.
Last Tuesday prices weren't raised, but each customer was limited to three pounds of each.
Two days ago, the three pounds of chicken still was in effect, but there was no special on fresh ground beef.

The meat sections are picked through but not depleted. I can still get any type of meat that I'm looking for.
My theory is unlike TP, meat is expensive and the hoarder types frankly can't afford to power buy meat like they can .75¢/roll toilet paper. Plus, neither do they have 2 freezers and/or the space to store it.
So while the media can attempt to stir up a new crisis of the week meat shortage, they're going to have to move onto something else that their mouth breathing horde can wipe the stores clean of.
Maybe cheese, or pancake syrup will be next?

Chicken was cleaned out but it appeared there was plenty of red meat. I don't buy meat at Wally but the chicken cooler being completely empty was obvious.
What surprised, and annoyed me, is they were out of all Coke products other than 2 lonely 12 packs.
Haven't heard of any Coke shortages... Bottling plants shutting down too?

At one point there was concern with CO2 supply when all the ethanol plants were idling, but they are running more steadily now. Probably just fatties loading up
