2nd this.
But he is not a citizen. Might be a problem.
My mother in law rides the bus all the time to Florida and back. She is scared to fly. I would be scared at the damn bus station.
Guess it depends on where the dude is from. If he is from guayana it may feel like home.

If he’s in no time rush, do Amtrak. Can get on in NOLA, Schriever, New Iberia, or Lafayette. Only three days a week heading West, though.

Scheduled to take around 8 hours, I think, but will probably be longer.

Houston Amtrak Station doesn’t seem too sketchy.

Do they allow concealed carry on a bus? That would be the only way I would get on one.

If there’s no time crunch I would honestly walk.

What I don’t like is they stop at ton of places and make everyone get off the bus and then back on to prevent long distance freeloaders. Did one overnight. Sucked arse.

Chances are he’s seen worse than a Greyhound.

Agreed, assuming SE Asian.

My ancient experience riding from North of Indianapolis to San Francisco only got sketchy in Wyoming, when we were met by state troopers to drag someone off the bus. I didn't shite for three days. Try to keep him out of either bus station at night if possible.

I rode one from Lafayette to Greensville NC. What a shite show that was in 1995. Today? frick no. I almost got in 3 fights. I'd definitely bring a gun if you riding today.

Nothing wrong with a bus to Houston if you understand you’re on a bus and not with sophisticated people.

Everyone here talking about how bad it is haven’t taken a bus before.

can’t imagine a cheap flight from MSY or BTR

Houston to BR has always been insanely high from my recollection. Have looked into it for football games and hunting trips near St Francisville when I first moved. Houston to MSY can also be pretty pricey. At least relatively. I've had cheaper flights to much further locations. I have no clue how much a business ticket is and hope to never find out.

As a once Greyhound City Manager back in the day. He's in for a fricking treat my friend. Also very rare to be late between BTR and HTX. There's only 1 stop in between.
