Fair enough, that's your opinion. I don't think it's really supported by facts but I respect differences in opinions. Antifa folks certainly have no workable vision for the country.

By the way, I'm not downvoting all these responses. I appreciate the banter.

Same here. I wish more of the debates on here were more like this.

I wanted them to just draw their weapons on him when he refused to comply, but I know that isn't procedure. frick that was hard to watch. Those poor cops.

All those cuck responses on twitter that have no idea what the real world is like.

The cops should have kissed him on the cheek according to them.

Ideally, I would, too. When’s the last time you saw a member of the progressive left willing to engage in a nuanced discussion?

Cops had to take it easy on that piece of shite and one paid for it with his life. Had they not been afraid to really pull his arse out of that car with force, one would be alive.

Not sure how you think it would've ended any differently of they had been more aggressive from the start. How could they have handled that any better? Take cover and open fire from distance the moment he refused to get out? He was a coward who was hiding a gun, it's tragic but I honestly don't know what more force they could've used that you think wouldve stopped that coward from ambushing them like that.

You don't think the Trump administration, with it's hyper-focused and intentional tactic of dividing Americans against each other bears some responsibility for this climate? You won't conceded 10%? 5%? Why didn't this happen under Obama?

Please note- this is not a defense of Obama. Let's not go there. I'm trying to pinpoint why this problem just sprung up recently.

Why would anyone be excited to see this?

I guess you missed a bunch of the tweets in response to the video? Some were absolutely giddy about it. One even posted a celebrationg sticker with stars, balloons, and confetti with the words "Officer Down" scrawled across it.

If you would use your eyes you wouldn't be asking things like "why is this turned political" or "why are all these old police videos being released right now".

I don't have a crystal ball, but perhaps things return to normal? This question almost seems to imply we've never had a dem president before.

I'm not sure why we would expect all of this anti-police rhetoric would stop with Biden in the White House, it started with him in the White House

So the two cops could not easily handle the shooter. Yes, I agree the shooter is the one who is in the wrong here. But why can’t the two cops keep him detained from a safe distance while they wait on more police backup? Put spikes or a lock under front and back tires so he can’t (successfully) leave the scene. I just don’t understand the urgency or manner in which these two police officers who were outmanned/strength have to arrest this guy by themselves ASAP. Just wait for back up. It was probably like a minute or two away and they could have safely neutralized this guy instead of having to fight him by themselves where they were obviously outmatched.

I support the blue, but some of the protocols could be updated to safely handle situations better. I truly believe today’s criminals are different than the 1950s -60s when I am sure most police procedures were developed. People do not care these days. The amount of neck tattoos in society tells us this.

In the past this guy would have been knocked out by fists or a billy club. He wouldn't have had time to reach for the gun.

Today's climate doesn't allow police to do their job and good cops are paying for it with their lives.

Even in hindsight its hard to say. I think their only chance would have been to cuff him inside of the car and even that would have been a hell of a stunt to pull off.

There really wasn't anything they could do without going full blown 1950s on his arse.

You have some proof of this claim? Or is this just your feelings on the matter?

It did. Both BLM and Antifa. However he made it very clear it was going to end once violence started, and the members of his party in the same local and state governments that are now pushing this, put a stop to it.

Because partially due to the lockdowns, and partially due to there being a Republican in office to shift the blame to.

I mean look at the narrative..."this is Trump's america". Look at all the media groups saying Trump is at fault for all of this, and ignoring it's happening in blue cities that have been blue for 50 years or longer. All the while making excuses for why the leaders in those cities have done nothing to address the problem, or even encouraged it.
