Abbott and Patrick have tried to walk a very fine line, appeasing the base but “leaving it up to the counties.”
Greg Abbott is the most pro business governor in the country but not a trump boot licker. His tone is pretty telling of the problem in the big metros anyway.

Death and hospitalizations are still very low compared to March and April. I understand why the media fails to mention this but why Republican governors?

There is also a direct correlation between Abbots possible upcoming shutdown moves and him wanting to be elected governor again in two years. He trying to stay in the middle and that is not a good place to be.
The liberals say he’s worthless and hasn’t done shite but deflect the blame.
The conservatives will now crush him for using a second lockdown as leverage.
He might just be losing everyone now.

Every Texan should resist no matter what. They tipped their hand when healthcare professionals refused to condemn mass protests.

In fact, encouraged them. No hospital should have said ONE DAMN WORD about protest rallies.
Johns Hopkins, etc. can kiss my arse.. They clearly have ulterior motives when making broad "health" statements and recommendations.

Please show your work
Spikes are happening mainly in the big 4 metro areas from what I understand which aside from San Antonio are not the areas you’re referencing re migration

Texas should close their southern border.

If a genuine attempt to send people back to Phase 1 emerges after all we have learned about COVID, I wouldn’t be very sad to see armed insurrection. Our governments are perfectly fine with huge gatherings for protests but those damned businesses are spreading COVID!!!

All that talk about doing it is just talk in Texas. Abbott, Rick Perry, you name it. They all know what fuels the engine for so many job sectors in the state. Hell, they could raid crews within walking distance of the Capital right now, but alas...

That definitely seems to be the viewpoint of lots of folks.
I was surprised to learn hospitals typically operate at 80-90% capacity normally. Abbott has shut down electives in the big cities. COVID19 has been only 25% of the hospitals at least in Houston so shutting down electives frees tons of space. There was also an article on khou speaking to the fact that the patients coming in now are having shorter stays than the people back in April/May (because they’re younger). Deaths haven’t gone up but that typically lags a little bit so we could possibly see that rise some in the next 7-10 days but I wouldn’t be surprised if not if it’s true the patients coming in are skewing younger than prior months.
4 hospitals today apparently said capacity is perfectly fine in Houston. Probably a bit irked that electives were shut down because that’s where they make $. They’ll probably have to fire/furlough people if it just is limited to COVID19 patients.

No of course not. Most people have the fricking sniffles and a low grade fever. Austin is sitting on 116 deaths and the mortality rate is plummeting.
The spike is from the bars opening. There's video everywhere of the bars at memorial day. It's not Mexican migrants. That's stupid. It's kids making out and fricking after being cooped up for months. This shite is ridiculous. The Austin Mayor is a Marxist piece of shite.

Could be also that no one gave two shits about masks outside of austin
Most likely. I went through there about 5 weeks or so ago, where everyone in Autsin was wearing masks and before the real opening, and I was one of as many folks I could count on both hands wearing a mask at Bucees.
