What? You actually put in work to address future expenditures? The government didn't help you? Unreal.

Price I pay for wanting to keep my house 70 degrees in July

Think all in it cost me about $2500. Over time it'll pay for itself.

My electric bill last month was 270.

It is normally about 220.

I guess we will see if it jumps on my next bill.

I have CLECO.

Hmm, my electric bill from entergy during the summer is usually about $330-340.

By barely crossed $300 id day it was $310-$320 tops during peak summer.

I was expecting $350. Was not expecting $438!!

That’s a NRC requirement, not an Entergy requirement

How bad is your infrastructure for that to happen? Or how much do you manipulate situations.

Talked to an out of state line crew helping after Ida and they were shocked at how poorly managed Entergy was. Said that Entergy in the BR area didn’t have a single transformer and had to get them shipped in. That was why some areas stayed without power. Guys said back home, every one of their trucks keeps on onboard.

Bottom line, our legislators suck for not keeping them in check.

To add what Civialdawg mentioned, I work for a company who’s main field is transporting natural gas amongst other (crude oil, NGL). one of our major projects guy said investors and shareholders won’t back up any new major projects unless we have plans to develop some type of green energy. Seems that investors are in bed with governments who want green energy. Government and banks and investors are in it for themselves while we are the ones who suffer or will suffer.

CLECO is even worse, they have the highest rates in the state.

Ask them about the carbon capture credits they are getting while raising your rates.

I saw it coming. Thermostat is on 76 during the day and cuts off quite a bit during the day. At night no lower than 72. Use box fans and ceiling fans to move air around at night.

Go outside in the evening and get your body used to the heat and it will be cool at night.

We are lucky to have demco at home and while it’s gone up, it’s not near as rapid a rise as entergy. If you’re on a fixed budget idk what you are gonna do. You might have to sit in a dark hot room for the rest of the summe

Demco buys power from producers like Entergy, the pricing contract they presently have will at some point expire, and the real pain will start.

Go co-opt if it’s possible. Entergy and Cleco give zero shits about the people of SE Louisiana and it’s been that way for along time:

But Eric Skrmetta says Entergy has this right. And I suppose they do, this is a reality. You have to pay for the service

Entergy produces s lot of electricity from natural gas the price of which has more than doubled in the last 12 months.

What a pathetic frickin mindset. Imagine being so ate up with politics you have zero regard for people that could potentially be sitting in the dark with no AC in 100+ temps. How some of you function in the real world is beyond me.

In Houston metro we have Power to Choose. I paying 12.5 per kilowatt todal, including the Relaint hard line fee.

My 2800 Sq ft house is running around 250.00. I do balance billing so it's 125.00 per month.

with such an anti-energy administration nobody wants to invest in anything in the petro sector and hard to blame them. projects can take 10+ years and meanwhile every car builder is talking about going all electric in 10-15 years.

as to those electricity bills, damn. entergy's playing raw. i'm in TX in a co-op. we got screwed in the big freeze but my last bill is only $50 more than the previous and it's easier to count the number of days under 100 degrees than over.

If Civildawg is talking about the settlement related to the Port Gibson nuke, then LA and NO customers should get money too.
