No oil dipstick and no transmission dipstick. Same shite engine and transmission in all of them.

Don’t know when it started, but it’s a feature on the new engines. Dipstick replaced with an electronic sensor.
That is guaranteed to go out after 100K miles. And I’m sure they’ll have to pull the engine out to fix it. Gotta make that money in parts and service, right?

I had one of the new gasers with the 6.6 and Allison in a Chevy. It was too weak and sold it in a few months. You’d have to find a gas station often. Diesels get twice the mileage pulling.
Empty it was a beast but pulling was awful. I almost didn’t make it up Loveland pass pulling a skid, didn’t have the low end torque

Oh really, I’ve had both. I have a hot shot business. What do you do? I’ve ran both diesel and gas. Loaded they get half the mileage.

And 80% of the owners will never haul anything larger than a couple bags of mulch. I'll stick to renting the lowes truck once every 3 years when i need one instead of over paying to feel "manlier"

Price has definitely went up, but the amenities also went up. I built out a 26 denali versus the 27, and it's actually cheaper in 27. The super cruise alone was a $6000 upgrade in 26. It's included standard in 27.

I drive a vehicle with 325k miles, so it burns some oil. Dipsticks are a necessity so I can top it off between changes.
Not that these new trucks will last that long.
