Haaaaaaaaang om my 21 paid off Tacoma TRD. I consider it the best truck in the road because it is paid off and my hand would shake so bad having to sign the paperwork for a base model 52k truck.
I know a guy that buys the highest end model of whatever Chevrolet truck is out every 3 or so years. I mean the absolute top. 4wheel drive, all the trim, accessories, etc. He literally drives a mile to the office, the truck never sees mud, tows anything, and all of his kids are out of the house. Crazy.

I love the fact that so many people in this thread are swearing not to buy one. That will drive demand down and make the rebates bigger when I'm ready for one. It's nice to be able to afford stuff.

The majority will buy them as long as they can get the monthly low enough to barely be able to swing it. Being able to finance anything has fricked up the costs of everything.

Without a trailer I was getting 20 miles to gallon with gasser 6.6. loaded was shite and sold it for a ford power stroke and haven't looked back.

The problem is sooooooo many people who have no need for a truck want one and drive up the costs. When they started putting adjustable pedals in them I knew we were in trouble....and they were over priced THEN. I am 61 and probably won't need a truck for more than about 15 years, if I am lucky. I will most likely either be dead or out of the sawmill business and the taking the boat to the lake business and everything else I need my truck to do. For the life of me I do not understand why so many people buy the damned things as high as they are and as inefficient as they are and only need one a couple of times a year if then.

Same. It's all I've ever driven. I might would buy a fun car too, but it would be a waste of money, and my college bills are pretty damn expensive.
I use mine way more than a couple of times per year though.

I could afford a new truck, but I couldn't imagine ever doing it. I enjoy not having a car note.

I can't remember the last time I added oil to any of my vehicles between changes.
Modern engines don't really "use" oil.
Note to Downshift: I do check under the DD13 for leaks. So far, so good.

Yeah, I can too, and I'll buy one eventually again, but I'll keep my 9 yr old truck as long as it'll last. I haven't had a note in 5 years.
