Girls with more academic achievement in high school

I was at a National Honor Society awards ceremony the other night at a large 5A school.
There were 58 seniors getting being honored. Only about 10 of them were guys.
This is the 4th year in a row I attended this ceremony and the ratio of girl/guys has been roughly the same.
Are girls smarter now? or do the guy just not care anymore?

Females are more promoted now and males of a certain variety less so

Girls tend to give more effort, on average, in school.
This has been this way forever I think.
I knew some dumb fricking chicks growing up that had straight A's from busting their asses.

The current education practices are geared toward girls. You just can’t tell a 7 year old boy to sit still for 7 hours and pay attention. When he doesn’t, medicate him until he can’t think.

A surprising number of girls that were in the top 10 in my class ended up being stay and home moms.

Education system is skewed to favor girls. Boys need to be up doing things, not sitting in a chair for 7 hours a day. Plus, boys play travel ball.

Looking back at it now, its funny how meaningless grades were. I would have melt downs if I got a C+ on something.
I'm 31 and have two degrees and no employer is going to ask my grades from any level of school that I've completed.

They put themselves into circumstances where they would never have to work an 8-5. Sounds like top 10 intelligence to me.

In the old days you'd paddle him for not sitting still, and academic performance was stronger.
Not saying I advocate going back to that, but we tolerate a lot more nonsense from kids than we did in the past.
