Not everyone eligible for the honor joins. Many at our school don't think it's a big deal so they don't join. It seems that most schools these days give $$ based on ACT so these clubs aren't viewed as necessary for a scholarship resume anymore.

I think girls take high school a lot more serious than guys. It’s really not very hard to achieve high academic stuff in high school. Most guys are more worried about sports and chasing arse.

we had about 750 in our hs senior class, number 1 was a guy, ended up being a rocket scientist, really, number 2 was my gf, she's a French professor at ASU the last I heard
