He is flat out lying then.
Many local volunteers and CM is in the best shape it has been in the last 8 years. Full buy in by the homeowners to make it even better.

I live on the course at Copper Mill. I will say we have come a long ways in short time. We have no consultants that come from Beaver Creek. Why would someone in direct competition a few miles away consult to make a course better? FAKE NEWS!

Are those places in Louisiana? If so, they're shitty retirement places.

Hot damn.
If you sign up for that is it for perpetuity? Because that is insane.

Just go to Clinton and play that 9 hole course everyday

I worked a golf tournament at Copper Mill last year and it was awful - the grass hadn’t even been cut and the course was full of clovers. Out of all the area courses my company does tournaments, this one is the most poorly kept up by a long shot.

Re: The Bluffs. Did the paper mill close? Because it used to smell awful some days at the Bluffs if the wind was blowing that wood pulp stink from the mill.

Carter Plantation? Pelican Point? Greystone?
I would be worried about how long the Bluffs will be around. Seems like they are always flirting with financial problems.

I can’t imagine wanting to retire anywhere near BR.

Nope. It's going up as we speak. Golf communities hemorrhage money after the real estate is sold.

Coppermill has the highest HOA fees in the area. 2500 a year to live in that neighborhood. When I bought a house they were 400. It's always the golf course will fail if we don't buy it, then it's we need more money to be successful.
You might look at Americana. Then you could drive to three courses close by. But if you're buy the Bluffs is hard to beat for the views.

Copper Mill is a nice neighborhood, but their HOA’s are atrocious (around $2400 a year last I heard). The course isn’t overly spectacular either. In my opinion, Beaver Creek is the nicest course in the Zachary area.
As a side note, you will pay out the arse in property taxes in Zachary to support their school district. Not sure how much West Feliciana is, but I’d imagine it’s cheaper than Zachary.

Free membership for homeowners.
That is because the HOA is charging to pay the bill on the course that they had to buy to keep it from closing. The developer absolutely screwed this championship course in the butt when he took the driving range and developed homes on it. Now the course has no range facilities and thus has become a high BREC level. No clubhouse to speak of. Great course though
I play there a lot and I have looked at ways they could put in a range but they are pretty much screwed.

Bluffs golf course will not be around in 12 years. So that should make choice easier

CCL or Baton Rouge Country Club are the answers.

I mean I guess it would be an upgrade from the westbank, but I wouldn't choose this.
Quit fcking with us poor people. You are damn near a partner and have your kids almost off your payroll. You will be in Florida where you belong.
