Well shite. I fell into the media trap then. I leave today for a week in Savannah. Thought I was going to be able to sit in a restaurant and have a drink.

That may be possible. I personally have yet to see a restaraunt with its dining room open. That doesn't mean they don't exist though

you think we can shut down for 2-3 years?

and what if a cure isn't found? vaccines for coronaviruses are extraordinarily rare. i don't know if one has been found for a human CV

We should do same for the flu. Close everything until we find a cure. Cancer too!

Until we find a cure

Impractical, immoral.

We have gone from flattening the curve to finding the cure. This is how the conspiracies become more valid.

This was discussed in another thread. There is no vaccine for a human coronavirus, but there are some for dogs/cats. We've also never come up with a viable vaccine to ANY disease in under 2-4 years.

Lets get this straight

A cure will never be found. That just isnt reasonable

Hopefully, they can find a vaccine as effective as the flu vaccine, so around 30% effective

sounds like people dont need the government forcing them to do anything

I dont disagree. Now that basically the entire country was shut down for over a month's time and the death toll has risen as high as it has. I dont believe most places are going to see a true spike in cases again. The public has already been spooked enough. People will continue to avoid people and social distance for a good bit of time. Mandatory shutdowns arent even necessary, as most want to stay shutdown at this point.

My company is still working from home anf latest I heard its a possibility we stay this way throughout June and july.

Some businesses are electing to stay closed.

Not to mention with how unemployment benefits are going, many have no incentives to actually want to work right now.

The fact this doesnt terrify people more than a virus is perplexing to me
