To be fair, I can barely tell any difference being in GA. Mot people are still staying at home. And 90% of businesses that aren't the essentials in my area are still closed.

Exactly. The vast majority of businesses are still not opening. I know of a number of folks who won't open their restaurants because their employees are afraid to come back still and/or are also demanding something to the tune of $24 an hour to be guaranteed to them because they're making nearly $1,000 a week on unemployment. Hard to know what the real impact of "opening" really is just yet.

You should be able to find a place. But I would expect to wait in lines to get in if it's a good place and the right time. Just remember the restrictions are put on them by the govt, they have no way to be open and not follow those rules. I've heard some people giving wait staff or even owners shitte over having to wait, etc, but their hands are tied.
Hopefully next week the restrictions will be relaxed to phase 2 which should have many more opening. Right now, I can't even go in my bank's lobby nor are any churches open.

We took the family out to eat to celebrate the end of school last night. That sounds silly considering what “school“ turned into after SiP. Our school was really well equipped for homeschool so our kids didn’t miss a beat.
Pissed them off that public school kids work was a joke.
It was the first time that we’d been out in public as a family since March 13th and eaten. Completely empty restaurant.

I heard an interesting theory about the whole unemployment/losing money to work thing.
An economist said, as a temporary measure, continue the $600 weekly fed unemployment check even while people are working service sector jobs/low wage jobs. But make it mandatory that you’re working. This way people can not lose money by working

Among my friends, the ones that want to stay home are still staying home, I'm in Texas. The ones that want to wear a mask are wearing a mask. The rest of us are back to going to restaurants and trying to get back to normal.
Only one friend is still refusing to go anywhere. He's the one liberal in our group. Well, the only outspoken one. But he's all in on the death and destruction hysteria that the media was promising.

And yet that same government is forcing people to stay in and forcing businesses to stay closed. Kinda hard to collect taxes when people can't work or shop. Pick a land and stay in it

I'm an advocate of the Swedish model, but I must say that those on my side who keep making arguments like this are being foolish. All it will take to dash their arguments is for Georgia's caseload to go up - and three weeks is not the point yet that you'd expect a big peak. If folks are getting infected a lot in Georgia it is probably younger healthier folks who are out and about. They are likely to be asymptomatic but infecting others. It will take two, three or more generations of infections before it starts hitting vulnerable people who are staying at home. It's only when these people start showing up with bad symptoms that the caseload will ramp up dramatically. That could be up to eight weeks after reopening.
I'm not saying I expect this, but it would not surprise me. The reason to reopen is not that there are no negative consequences, but that those consequences can be managed without overloading our hospitals and are not as bad as the consequences of remaining closed. That is an argument that will survive the test of time, unlike the one quoted above.
