wrongfully convicted
From what I read, he had a rap sheet a mile long.
While, he maybe didn't do what convicted of, likely had gotten away with plenty other shite over the years.

Makes you immune to tasers apparently, but not bullets.

Idiot just got an $800k settlement only to die flailing around like a fish on the side of an interstate lol because he couldn't help himself to go full dindu at a traffic stop. Hilarious.
I'm sure his relatives will make good use of those funds.

Two things I noticed:
He was using some of the sovereign citizen line of verbal resistance with that "by what authority" bullshite.
He also looked to me like he knew the Taser pulse only lasts 5 seconds and to ride it out. Then, once the charge subsided, he rolled up the wires to pull out the prongs.
I wouldn't be surprised if he learned this in prison. We know inmates discuss (and physically practice) tactics to defeat apprehension by law enforcement.

On Monday, October 16, Leonard Cure was shot by a white cop during a traffic stop. Now there are calls for proof that the police officer was in fear of his own life, thus justifying the use of deadly force. “The family is not convinced that you’re going to see that,” said Ben Crump, the civil rights attorney representing Cure’s family.

The Camden County, Ga., Sheriff’s Office has released both body and dash camera footage. I’m wondering if they’ve seen it because there is so much evidence that Staff Sergeant Buck Aldridge tried literally every tool in his belt before using his firearm.
quote:
When both vehicles were stopped, Aldridge began shouting instructions for Cure to get out of the truck. Cure complied, but only after setting up a livestream on Facebook.
“I ain’t doing sh*t,” Cure shouted when Aldridge told him to put his hands on the back of the truck
quote:
The officer demands compliance “or you will be tased.” Aldridge issues 14 commands and two direct warnings to Cure; Cure only argues. Aldridge deploys the taser, as promised.
… When he comes out of it, Cure is combative, swatting at the wires connecting the taser prongs to the handheld base before laying hands on the officer. The two engage in a physical struggle, the fight moving from the shoulder across the white line and into the highway.
Cure grabs Aldridge’s glasses and throws them on the ground. When Aldridge gets a free hand, he grabs his baton, swings it open, and tries to hit Cure with it. Cure’s hands are on Aldridge’s throat. The two continue to struggle with flowing traffic mere feet from them. As he chokes Aldridge, Cure says, “Yeah, b*tch. Yeah, b*tch.” This is when Aldridge drops the baton, grabs his gun, and shoots Cure in the gut. Cure falls to the ground; Aldridge calls “shots fired” on his radio;

Wonder if Crump actually believes this or wants to know how much the family has left of that $800k

I like how the perp was confidently saying "yea bitch" as he got shot.

Not according to the other thread today.
Nothing happens in prison and its a pretty peaceful place.

I wonder if a toxicology test was done on Cure. His actions and movements in that video definitely look suspicious.

When will They ever learn? SWIDT?

maybe its me but i feel like tasers in man to man close quarters is just bad news.
Posted on 10/19/23 at 4:27 pm to MrLSU
Fafo. Why on earth would you attack a police officer?
Posted on 10/19/23 at 4:28 pm to Chad504boy
Tasers on a big dude like that is worthless but the cop followed escalation procedures. Once that dude started to grab the cop any of his hopeful sympathy and projection went out the window as well as his life.
