Has anyone here ever installed one?
Mine is 20 years old (instaleld when my house was built) and those youtube videos make ti look easy.
Or do I do it with the understanding that I will have to call a plumber before it's over?

If you can’t replace a garbage disposal with all the YouTube content available now, you may be special.

It’s easy. Make sure to pop the plug out for the dishwasher drain port.

Replacing one is easy. All the work is already done.

I replaced 2, it’s pretty easy…
If you can, just get the same model, all the hardware is already in place..
Don’t forget to disconnect the latch hasp auxiliary drainage line…

Just throw it in the garbage

Don’t get the cheapest you can find. You want power and durability.
It’s less difficult than you think.

Go watch Seinfeld. Puddy can explain it.

It’s very easy.
PSA: if you tie the dishwasher discharge hose into to connection port on the disposal, make sure to punch out the “knock-out” tab. If you don’t connect dishwasher discharge hose, then leave the knock-out intact.

It’s pretty simple. The only thing I messed up on was the flange got off center when I installed it so I had to take it off and recenter. But you don’t even have to replace the flange in most cases. I just did because the new one was shiny.

I would also check the noise level. There are some with the same power, but differ in dB level.

This the only difficult part is snugging it up on the last 1/8th of a turn...
