Keep paying your taxes. Glad I was responsible and paid my mortgage even when my business was tanking at the beginning of COVID.

quote:

Louisiana is providing up to $25,000 each to homeowners impacted by COVID-19 who are behind on their mortgage payments and at risk of foreclosure.

The program — funded by $146.7 million in federal pandemic aid — is available statewide to homeowners earning less than 150 percent of the area median income or 100 percent of the national median income, whichever is greater.

In Orleans Parish, a three-person household qualifies for relief if its income is less than $94,650. That same household qualifies in East Baton Rouge Parish if it makes less than $107,100 and in Lafayette Parish with less than $92,350.

Lesson of the day, be irresponsible and big daddy government will rescue you with other people's money.

That's a bank giveaway with an ancillary benefit to the freeloaders.

As I said in the first thread:

A fricking bullshite program that ill put a shitload of dollars into and get not a dime out of.

I sure am fricking glad I made sacrifices to pay my bills during this whole cluster frick so I could keep paying my taxes so a buncha no working fricks could have their shite handled for free

I'm sure lots of hardworking people out there really need and deserve this, but realistic downshift knows that aint who's getting this

I’m sick of the freeloaders. Hope they all die off.

What if I make less than that, paid my mortgage the entire time, and didn’t get any government freebies.

How about they just give me $25k and call it even

Hell, I’ll take $15k

If you have a mortgage, there is some risk of foreclosure.

So we are bailing out the banks and also ensuring people don't go back to work anytime soon.

$146m statewide to people behind on their mortgages isn't going to go very far.

The takers have outnumbered the givers. Sooner or later, hopefully, the givers will get fed up.

Amen, brother. I guess driving an older car and putting money into savings is the wrong way to live.

I wonder if there is a requirement in the program that the money actually be used to pay the delinquent debt. I would assume so, but there is no way to tell since it is a government handout.

This coincides with the thread yesterday on the political board about Biden trying his best to prevent a massive amount of layoffs right before the midterms. They know it’s coming, we know it’s coming, everyone knows it’s coming. Everyone’s too stupid to see the political spin job being put into motion behind the scenes, though.

So they’re giving it to the homeowners and not the mortgage companies? What could go wrong?

Oh, the same thing that went wrong when they had stupid arse programs to pay peoples’ rent but instead of giving it to landlords they gave it to people who just blew it on every bullshite imaginable EXCEPT rent.

The government is so full of fricking idiots. It’s maddening.
