Gustav was a daylight storm in AP. Nasty bastard. We slept in a tent in the barn after because it was cooler than the house.

This has more to do with the fact the 7PM interval is over land. They still have it up to 100mph at 36 hours.

Anyone with half a brain should know that

My daughter(no pics)lives in BR. Based on current predictions, should I have her drive up to my house in West Monroe?

Isaac's impacts were only felt over a specific area. That's probably why it's forgotten so much. The areas that got hit by it were all flooded.

Just in time to kill all the vegetation and blow out all the feed for teal season.

This bitch needs to hit orange, nothing there besides shitty interstate.

The most important hurricane prep you can do is to get vaccinated and wear a mask.
Thank you.

It really shouldn't be THAT bad, unless she lives in a shanty town. Power outages, sure. For how long will the power be out is the real question.

The most dangerous thing that will happen to her is that drive - but if you’re doing it because she doesn’t want to be inconvenienced, sure. She’s not in any danger from the storm in BR though.

If I remember correctly the eye passed just to the west of BR (around gross tete maybe) around 1-2 pm in the afternoon didn’t it?

I don’t remember where but yeah to the west and in the afternoon. That thing punched BR in the mouth.

we can't make that decision for you. use your gut and current info.

BR should get 50-70 winds and just have power outages tho.

just don't know about tornados.

I would… even if power is out for 8 hours… she’s not inconvenienced, and you get to visit with your daughter. Win/win

10 pm center of cone track progression

landfall just east of Pecan Island to
just west of Abbeville to
between Maurice and Milton to
Lafayette to
Arnaudville

This is about a 10 to 12 mile shift east from the 4 pm center of cone track.

Reminder: The hurricane is not a single point, and the worst conditons can be anywhere within about 10 to about 30 miles from the center depending on size of eye. Francine is currently forecast to be a small-sized hurricane force wind field of out to 30 miles from center.
