It's getting serious now. I'm a first responder and so are both my sons. We are already on call. I truly hope not but this might get real for metro BR

My daughter(no pics)lives in BR. Based on current predictions, should I have her drive up to my house in West Monroe?
Well, I've lived here almost 50 years and in general BR is far enough inland where the storms aren't as strong when they get here. We can have prolonged power outages, 80-90mph winds, trees down etc, but she'll probably be fine.
The right storm on the right path could rip BR a new one. I'd probably get mine out if this was a Cat 4 or whatever.

Currently what is Nola looking like? All the info I can find locally is several hours old and I know this thread is far more current.

No power here for a week in Metairie. It was nasty bc of the stall. If I recall, Isaac was just supposed to be a quick tropical storm. Ha.

My parents are 2 miles due West of Vermillion Bay. Grandparents are just South of the Forked Island Bridge. Mom just messaged me the eye going right over them as of last track. They left my house this morning at 3am to storm prep.

I remember correctly the eye passed just to the west of BR (around gross tete maybe) around 1-2 pm in the afternoon didn’t it?
I fricked up and evacuated the family from Metairie to Brusly for that one. Not a fun experience. LOL

Oh my. Do they stay once prepped or do they evacuate??
Glad they made it home in time to prep.

I was in the parking lot at Mathernes on Highland hitting golf balls in the parking lot when the winds got into the 70’s. Fun as hell until windows started cracking and signs flying.
