Making sure my gig line is straight and my dress is always squared away. I can't stand to look sloppy.

While I wasn't in the service, I still had the indoctrination. Two things, Speed eating and holding things in my left hand. And I'll add, 99% of the time, my first step is my right foot.

This.

And (not limited to but including)-

Waking up early
Always being early
Functioning well on short sleep
Can make myself go to sleep anywhere/anytime
Everything in its place and a place for everything
Short hair
Shave every day
Pressed clothing everyday
Speed walking
Speed eating
Roll my clothes for packing (I don’t specifically remember him doing this, maybe I stumbled upon this myself?)

Nice thread, made me think of this characteristics in a new light.
The old man was a helluva role model.

My grand father was on a ship for WWII with several hundred men. Said the shutter was so foul smelling the only way he could go was to light a cigarette. When he got out and til the day he died at 88 yrs old, the only way he could go to the bathroom was to light a cigarette. Smoked no other times in his life.

Smoking is the worst for me, I picked it up in the Army and haven’t been able to kick the habit. Lord knows I’ve tried. If anyone has any tips on how to I’m all ears.

Sorry for the hijack, but I feel answering this is important.

I had the same issue, and nothing seemed to work. I used to believe no one loved smoking as much as me. I was finally introduced to vaping and that worked for me. Took about 10 months to get nicotine free, and then around a month to break the hand to mouth habit. I haven't smoked in 9 years now.

Absolutely. It blows my mind how that doesn’t other regular people. My kid comes out with a jacked up gig line all the time.
