perfect name. In a few years Ford execs will not be able to fathom why no one wants to buy their mid-size EV truck, and they have to write-off billions

Like they had to do with the lightening.

They lost billions on the “Lightening”

Ford faced massive financial losses on the F-150 Lightning, losing between $36,000 and $44,000 on every single electric truck sold

For a commuter EV truck, that is pretty solid looking IMO.

I do wish they'd stop with the solid front face grill. I know there's no engine that needs air, but they could be more creative with that.

I would consider something like this for a third car for commuting, running errands, things that need a truck bed.

If it's really sub30k.

That motortrend picture is only a drawing. The design hasn't been revealed yet, but it is much smaller than the Ridgeline. Think size similar to a 90s Ranger, but lower to the ground and 4-door.

Probably can get there 25s that never left the lot for half price. I have a Lightning. I like it. In my town in East Texas there is Tesla dealership. I see Teslas all over the place.

If I recall correctly, Ford discontinued the Lightning with the intent of introducing this truck as a smaller, cheaper product. I also remember they plan other types of cars that will build off the same frame. Like a sedan and SUV etc.

I think this will do much better than the Lightning. Most people either tow with a 1/2 ton or can't convince themselves that they never actually will. This scares people from the electric full size. Most small truck buyers are honest with themselves that they will never tow and an EV makes sense in that format.

This truck is going to do well in the commercial marketplace. Lots of companies with local dispatch needs will adopt this as they all can return back to the depot each night and recharge. Low maintenance on EV's and a cheap entry price will go a long way.

They need to do a van. That would do really well.

And they need to contract with Tesla for their FSD tech.

I will consider it. Trucks get crappy gas mileage and being able to pass up gas stations will be a pleasure. I’ll charge it at home.
