My mother threw away absolutely nothing.
After she passed, it was a huge chore separating what needed to be kept, and what needed to be tossed.

Also used to get home made treats from most neighbors.

And maybe some wax lips.
Until you hit the motherloade house and got the candy cigarettes.

yep! I wore a Mr. T mask and crappy plastic apron that came with it for 3 years straight. probably couldn't get away with that one today.

I went through a few of these in the 80’s
The one I remember most was Yoda
Because Yoda wears a plastic smock with a picture of himself on it
I bought one a couple years, but they ditched the plastic smock for some kind of fabric half shirt like thing
Luckily, there’s still a picture of Yoda, and “Yoda” is printed on it

Born in ‘73. Had that Casper costume one year. I think we had that exact soda as well and I for sure know we had those same smoke stained walls

I had the Casper and Frankenstein masks. Had glow in the dark dots for safety. Our parents did NOT go with us.

still remember that couch from the early 90s
90’s? We had that shite in the 70’s. “Herculon”, the weave was called. Basically a polyester blend. I hated those couches as a kid.

Pretty sure we had that exact same couch in the 70's. Which I'm sure nicely complemented the green carpet.

My cousins got thos plastic costumes. My mom sewed us nice fabric costumes but I was so jealous of the plastic character costumes. Ours were generic - clown, witch, baby doll, etc.

I have that buffet (hutch) in my house. And we had that sofa growing up. My mom recovered it. It’s still better than most of the crap you can buy three days.

80's kid here. We had a black vinyl couch when I was a kid. You would literally stick to it when trying to get up or move on it. My grandmother had the one that had wood arms and wooden frame but had 6 removable cushions with some type of orange floral print. Solid wood too, not this mdf particle board shite they use on modern furniture.

For the first Halloween that I was old enough to trick or treat for, I had that exact same clown costume.
Later years I remember I used costumes like these to be The Count from Sesame Street and Superman.
To the poster above who mentioned K&B, I remember them being there as well. They hung on a rack and you’d go through them like you were looking for a shirt. lol

I had that couch in my first apartment at college, circa 1980.

No, but I remember the couch. ????

Also, we didn't have the money for a plastic pumpkin. We used a pillow case, you could fit a whole lot more. We would come home, dump it out when it got too heavy then go back out for HOURS

I can still remember the smell when you walked in. It was intoxicating because it meant TOYS!
