Not sure what those are but after he completes a lengthy certification course in Houston the P-51 will be hangared at Falcon Field in Mesa, AZ (he is my neighbor in Scottsdale). Apparently there are a few flying clubs at Falcon Field as well as many other vintage fighters like Hellcats & Wildcats based there.

A pic of my buddy in front of the F-117 Nighthawk he flew in the USAF. I'm jealous of his good fortune to fly both planes.

Then there's the even rarer Twin Mustang, of which only five exist, one operational. Much longer range, more firepower, similar performance envelope. Too late for WWII, used in Korea before jets rendered them obsolete.

Kind of takes the term "Find a friend with a boat" to a new level.

Liquid cooled Allison V12?

Any idea how much he paid for it? I know it's not cheap but are they as much as a new TBM?

At Oshkosh you’ll be able to see an entire row of flyable Mustangs. The warbirds display area is always a treat.

You bet. Written on the left side of the door, I'm assuming the others are previous owners of the plane based on the dates. I see "Iwo Jima" written, which means it also saw action in the Pacific Theater? That's confusing.

If one of my buddies said "Just bought an old school Mustang, wanna go for a ride?", this is not what I would be expecting.

That is awesome.

F4U Corsair

Extremely rare experimental version owned and flown by Steuart Walton.

He also has 2 P-51's and a British Spitfire.
