re: For those that still have the option, who is sending their kids to daycare?

We are. They instituted new screening rules for kids and parents. No more parents going back to classroom. Parent and kid get temp taken up front. Temp in either one means no one stays. IF parent and kid have no temp, then a designated teacher comes and gets the kid from the lobby. Hand sanitizers have been stationed out front of the building for 2 weeks. Use them before you key in.
Not sure what else a day care can do.

Hell yeah still sending my 2 year old to daycare. If the doors are open, she’s there.

3 year old twins here and they are still going. It's a small daycare with about 35 children and they are taking extra precautions. But I suspect they will close at some point.

My kid's before/after school care is still open for all-day daycare during this shutdown. Trying to keep him occupied at work for a week or so, but may put him in daycare if needed or he affects production at the office too much.

shite is getting real over in Alabama. The state just declared anything "kid" had to be shut down by Thursday.
Most through April 6th. Waiting for word from our daycare, and to see if they send my pregnant wife home. Since she is high risk and is currently on a floor with a confirmed patient.

We aren't. My wife works at a hospital and while she isn't in direct contact with COVID patients, it seems irresponsible to us to send our daughter. Me being able to work from home made that decision easier of course.

Our daycare is open, but we are keeping the kid home. I'm assuming the majority of people sending their kids there are the ones that have no option. We are fortunate to be able to work from home so I'll do what I can while my kid spills milk on my keyboard.

Day by day - Daughter is with us to help with them this week but man, they are a ton of work (8mth / 2yo)

We pulled ours, although they are still open. Daycare is actually being pretty cool about it and giving us a credit for the month which we had already paid.

Hell no
I can’t believe the daycare is still open honestly, it’s irresponsible

Curious...
No way if I had a young kid would I sent them to day care in this situation.
It's bad enough they are nothing short of expensive petri dishes to begin with where normal germs and viruses incubate as parents send their kids to them feeling sick because they are busy chasing the dollar.

Still sending ours.
Wife is hourly and my office isn't closed, and can't work from home effectively since alot of my work is in the field and meeting with clients. If it comes to it though, I have telework capabilities, so I'll keep him home if need raises.

Still have the option but my kid was running fever this weekend and even yesterday so kept him away. So far no fever today, but at this point will probably continue to keep him home. I work from home all the time and my wife will get to work from home every other day during this so I'll have some relief.

My wife works in a hospital and I have a job deemed essential by the government.
We don’t have another option. Daycare has stepped up sanitizing and put in place measures to limits kids exposure, etc.
Most of the other parents dropping their kids off are healthcare workers and first responders.
So that means all of us and our kids will get it and then be immune to it and then help all of you people after. So I wouldn’t be screaming for daycares to shut down if I was you. You need them open

Daycare still open, wife is working from home and daughter is staying with her.
I am at the office, but I'm the only one here.

We ( wife and I) own a daycare . We are doing screening of employees and children before entering. We also hired a two ladies just to clean and disinfect all day. We have insurance that would pay our bills if we had to shut the doors because of the virus but we are staying open as long as we can for our parents.

How are daycares any safer than schools?
They aren't. Those places are breeding grounds for virus and bacteria. My kids have caught something from daycare way more often than school. And since daycares have always followed school closures, even when its just a bad thunderstorm rolling through, I have no idea how they are still open.

Correction Jefferson County is mandating it, not the state yet.
