Sounds awfully similar to what you've been melting down with all over this board the last few weeks. Even in non-political threads you post about Trump and melt down over every move he does and doesn't make.
You're just the other side of the same coin. Just admit you wouldn't be happy with anything coming out of the WH no matter what and move on, I think we all know this by now.

OK Loudmouth.
Since whatever job you may have is likely suspended now, I challenge you to volunteer at a hospital.
Time to put your money where your mouth is.

There was an FDA in 1777?
Wow. The fact that it has to be explained to you that agencies of the federal government derive their power through the Constitution of the United States, and that the agency didn't have to actually exist at the time of the Continental Congress, tells me a lot about the level of intelligence I'm debating with.
Stick with your day job (if you still have it) and leave these debates to Constitutional scholars. Or at least people who have the slightest clue what they're talking about.

This pandemic is certainly bringing out the simpletons.

Jack Daniel sounds like the kind of guy who if we lifted shelter in place would be the first person to assist the community spread at bars, restaurants, barbershops, etc. Unless you talk to or know a healthcare professional you have no idea how serious this is. It isn’t about the fact that not everyone who gets it won’t die. It’s about the fact that many states are about to run out of their medical resources. My sister and another of my friends are both icu nurses. If they receive many more critically ill patients they will have to make decisions about who gets to live and who gets to die. I don’t want them in that position. I also don’t want anyone in the position that if their family member goes to the hospital and is in need of oxygen they won’t get it and will be forced to eventually pass. So, yes, I gladly give up some of my freedoms and sit on my arse watching Netflix for a month or so because I don’t want to put people in those situations.

I, for one, always enjoy being lectured to about constitutional law and history by someone who has studied neither.

What if you’re going to the grocery store? Or you can just keep some grocery bags in your car.
Or what if it’s a family emergency? They going to follow you there?

Scruffy, how do you know this?
New Orleans isn’t even close to being out of ventilators.
New York has a stockpile of them that aren’t being used.
They are not close to being overrun.
No other state is even reporting situations like this.
We have been 2 weeks behind Italy since January.

Also, I’m not talking about running out of penicillin but rather ventilators. Louisiana isn’t receiving an additional 200 respirators from the government for shits and giggles.

Calm down.
At the current trend, the only region of LA that is in any kind of danger of running out of ventilators is NOLA/Jefferson and there are plans in place to accommodate.
Posted on 4/4/20 at 3:57 pm to PentagonTiger
As of April 4th, LA was using 571 out of 2,320 ventilators.
Posted on 4/4/20 at 4:01 pm to Scruffy
well, that argument is over with.
Posted on 4/4/20 at 4:11 pm to Klark Kent
The state actually has 2749 ventilators of which 920 are EPVs so they don’t help with long term respiratory illnesses like the corona virus. So that leaves us with less than 1000 for the whole state. With the rate of new cases in Louisiana that could be a problem pretty quickly.

2749 ventilators
That leaves us with about 1250 ventilators left, not “less than 1000”.
Then add the extra couple hundred.
They will be fine.
