It's really not though. They sell NOLA themed t-shirts, signs, apparel, and trinkets, just like the Motwani's souvenir shops, just nicer.

I have no connection to any of them

I find it suspect you did not try to actually distinguish it as anything more than a nicer version of Motwani's crap that you criticize me for not posting pictures.

Do they primarily sell NOLA themed graphic t-shirts, trinkets, and souvenirs or not?

Keep on deflecting. You know they aren't equal.

You won't answer the question, but I am the one deflecting?

Do they primarily sell NOLA themed graphic t-shirts, trinkets, and souvenirs or not?

How are they NOT a nicer version of Motwani's stores?

There also could have been language in the lease that allowed the owner to sell the property not subject to the lease.

Oof. I would be very hesitant to sign such a lease. Spend money making leasehold improvements only to have it all go away in an instant with no warning? Maybe such a clause would have a payment with it.

I'm fairly certain I've said from the get go that they aren't the same.

Clearly this chick wouldn't frick you. It'll be Ok. This is the comment you took issue with:
quote:

there are a bunch of things one could dislike about her, but she has built a successful business and her shops are FAR better than the average FQ t-shirt shop...

That comment is 100% factual. But feel free to post a picture of a typical Motwani store and tell me that they're the same thing.

But a lease agreement should still be enforceable between the parties even if there if the property has a new owner.

Under Louisiana law, commercial property is sold only subject to publically recorded restrictions, such as a filed lease. Tenants, in general, have few rights under Louisiana law.

You made a blanket statement and refused to specifically say how they are different.

There you go again, dodging the question with ad hominem attacks becuase you have no substantive response. I don't care about the owners at all. I just do not like t-shirt/souvenir shops in the quarter and hope that the nicer, more intersting stores and boutqiues will eventually re-populate the quarter. I take no issue with their stores in Metairie or in malls, I just don't want them in the quarter.

And my response was that even if it is a much nicer verison than Motwani's places, it is still just a NOLA themed t-shirt shop which I don't like in the quarter.

Post a pic of the Motwani stores. Stop being a chickenshit and post the pic. We both know why you aren't.

what question have I dodged. They aren't the same. They are the same in the same way that a Chrysler 300 and a Bentley are the same.

There's one, you insufferable arse. Motwani owned and operated.

And another:

I think you are under the impression that all quarter Motwani stores are the shithole closets selling beads, smokes, and shirts that you see on Bourbon, but are unaware that the Motwanis changed a bunch of their stores off Bourbon a while back. The difference between these and Fleurty Girl is not even close to the difference between a Chrysler and a Bentley, but keep spewing your bullshite.

It's a t-shirt/souvenir shop selling graphic NOLA themed items, but go ahead and keep telling yourself it's different next time you walk out in your NOLA seasons t-shirt to visit Orleans Parish.

I can't keep up with the argument between you two but to say that Fleurty Girl is even close to being in the same category as those shitty Motwani T-Shirt shops is stupid.

I don't have a dog in the fight but that girls store is clearly a much, much higher end business. The FQ would be way better off if the shops were on the level of hers instead of mostly being on the level of Motwani's.

ETA. Looking at the photos posted - THOSE are decent shops. I was referring to the ubiquitous shops that have the "frick You You fricking frick" shirts out front.

My whole point in the conversation is that regardless of how nice it is, it is still just a t-shirt/souvenir store.

Her store is much, much nicer than those, but those have diminished off Bourbon and that's a low bar to set. I just want to see less souvenir/tshirt shops in the quarter and more interesting stores/businesses in their places.
