Once is was halfway backed-in just jump out and splash water into the car.

Decent idea turned into an epic fail.

I guess he did about all he could in a panic. What I find strange about this story is

quote:

A Chevy Silverado owner installed a BBQ in the pickup bed

If that’s a permanent installation, I’d say

Luckily, the driver walked swam away with no apparent injury.

And learned a very valuable lesson. Next time, build the grill closer to the tailgate so you don't have to backup as far into the river.

Once the cab caught on fire, all bets were off

If this is an accurate statement, that right there should void any insurance claim. If he was simply transporting the grill, he might be okay.

Tigerfoot,
Had you abandoned a burning truck in a pine forest, I guarantee you would have started a forest fire. Pine needles burn really well as does the resin that oozes from pine trees where there are breaks in the bark.

I think he may have saved himself a charge of arson and some really hellaceous fines.

The funny thing is that the faster he went to the launch the hotter the fire became. He was in a real bad situations there.

Lady in my town was getting gas at the station and spilled gasoline on her arm. As she drove off, she just had to have a cigarette. When she tried to light it, the gasoline on her arm and shirtsleeve caught on fire.

So, being an idiot, she put her arm out the window to try to "blow the fire out." Cops see her, and pull her over. They end up arresting her.

She was charged with unlawfully bearing fire arms.

I used to say that the Florida man thing is just a confirmation bias meme but idk anymore. I could see that happening out here in the country parts of the pan handle. Looks like around where I live lol

The Inner Peninsula is full of carnies and their offspring. Once you get a mile off the beach, Florida gets Floridish very quickly.
