With little options and even less time, the driver decided to shift into reverse and submerge the rear end of the truck into the water, just as the rear window shatters and the flames spread into the cabin.

Unfortunately, the truck lost ground, floated away and sank into the river. It’s unclear if the Silverado owner’s plan was to partially back into the water, or sacrifice the truck entirely, but either way, the result is a total write-off. Luckily, the driver walked swam away with no apparent injury.
