I saw a 2023 1794 with 15K miles for $66,000. WOW!! Many people will go back to driving their trucks until it's last breath

Hawaii has to have the largest percentage of Tacos compared to all the vehicles of any place in the US.

It is amazing how many there are in HI and it goes back 20+ years. They're everywhere.

Might even get the hybrid tax credit? I have friends that got 3500-5000 tax credit on hybrid SUVs.

Doubtful unless they make a plug in hybrid version too. Regular hybrids don't get the credit. The hybrid system on the Taco isn't even really for fuel efficiency. They use it mostly to add more horsepower.

I hate to say it but the 2.7 is probably the most reliable engine GM is putting in trucks these days. The 5.3s and 6.2s have been plagued with lifter issues.

Let's be fair, how many 2.7s on the road versus the V8s?

Looks awesome.

Way better than the Tundra.

It's the grille.

I expect them to revise the Tundra grille to be similar. Because it is fugly.

Probably has something to do with Japanese influence on Hawaiian culture.

Not much of a improvement over the last model. IMO the Colorado looks better. On the other hand the Colorado is a great truck, but reliability and reputation wise nothing measures up to the Tacoma.

Uhh, you serious Clark….new Taco is a huge improvement over the last one, especially with all the models. New Colorado is also a big improvement over the last one, but doesn’t come close.

Lots of quality of life improvements sure. But why do people value the Tacoma? Reliability. Longevity. Resale value. The turbo 4 is not likely to live up to the reputation of the prior naturally aspirated engines. It's just the nature of a more-stressed turbo charged engine.

I hope they do a better job with the 8 speed transmission than they did with 6. Because the 3rd gen auto is shitty. We will see.

I do like the looks of it. They did a much better job with the styling here. I'll give them that. 2nd gen seems pretty dated (in a way even the 1st gen and prior "toyota pickups" aren't). I think the 3rd gen will hold up pretty good and this iteration has plenty of 3rd gen echos.

I'll continue to drive my 3rd gen and see how this new one plays out. Never buy the first-year model folks. Not even from Toyota.

That's amazing. I have a 3/4 ton truck and the payload limit is like 2200 pounds.

Unfortunately the big issues with the Sequoia aren’t going to be easy to fix. GM is going to continue to own that segment with 65%+ market share for the foreseeable future.

I agree. I was planning on getting the new Sequoia as my next vehicle but that cargo configuration is a real deal breaker for me. I really like the look of the Sequoia but can’t justify paying that much for a vehicle with that major flaw. Heck, I am now thinking about the new grand highlander because of the cargo room it has. Toyota will ruin their market for the Sequoia when the grand highlander comes out.

As far as the Tacoma, I think they hit it out of the park. That TRD model is bad arse looking. I am not usually a truck person but I think I might want one just to keep in my garage to look at or may even consider buying one as my primary vehicle.

I had a 2019, put about 210,000 miles.
Traded it in for a 2019.
Traded in the 2019 for a 2021. They sold my old 2019 truck for more than I paid for the 2021.

That's how I ended up with mine. They gave me more than I paid for my 2016 F150, and then sold it for 2k higher than I paid for it, summer of 21. Prices were insane

Only the Trailhunter and TRD pro will have the hybrid. $50K+ easy. The rest is just a predesterian 2.4T.
