I think my car is $150 or something like that but it’s only once a year.

You pay $80 for an oil change?

The wife's car is around $80 but it requires synthetic. It lasts her like 2 years though. I just use regular in mine and it's about $50 for 6 quarts.

What did you do with oil and old filter?

I have a reservoir pan that holds 15 quarts. Every three changes I take it down to Walmart and they dispose of it for free. Most places will.

I can do my truck in about 20-30 mins. My wife’s explorer is slightly quicker because it’s got the filter vertically mounted and my Frontier is horizontally mounted to I have to drain it first.

Cost me less than $30 to do it myself. Five quarts of 0W-30 full synthetic and a filter cost me less than $30 - a $50 savings for 30 minutes of work!

What kind of vehicle do you drive, and what kind of vehicle does your wife drive?

It’s easy enough for me to change the oil in my truck. My wife’s Camry - not so much. When you add in the trip to the store to buy oil/filters, disposal of the used motor oil, dealing with oil stains in your driveway/garage/whatever, the inevitable shower because it’s 90 degrees outside and you’re covered in oil and grease... it’s way more than 30 minutes, and I’m happy to let Take 5 do it and not deal with the headache.

Just spend the $50 once and buy some drive up ramps and you have plenty of clearance.

I have enough shite in my garage, I don’t want to add big arse drive up ramps. I don’t intend on being a mechanic.

Pretty much any place that sells oil will take the used oil back.

Things we learned today.

1. OP is poor
2. OP lost his job in the oil & gas industry
3. OP really doesn’t have a wife as she would have left his pansy arse a long time ago.
4. OP is still a pussy.

Did you pour the oil in a storm drain or a ditch? I prefer the ditch.

Been changing my oil since I was 15. I'm in my late 50's now. Just something I've always done.

Got a lifted Jeep, so I change my oil. It is actually easier to do it myself than take it somewhere and wait.

Chronic masturbator changes oil once:

This is the real crime. Did you search to find the most expensive oil change place possible?

I did the math on mine a while back and it was about a wash. I don't think I was paying $80. Plus, disposal. Plus, they rotate tires and air them up for free.

Back before all this mess, I could drop off and walk to my office. No waiting. Walk back at end of day and pick up to go home.

Once got my oil changed and they tightened the filter so tight that the next time I changed it myself, the filter gasket was seized to the housing. That was a one time deal from that point forward...
