I always change it myself. Car ramps are great for that.
Here's a tip: Instead of letting the oil drip into a drip pan then having to clean the pan, line the pan with a small plastic trash bag.
Then transfer the used oil into the original container. Not much to clean up if you do it right.

I don't trust these quickie oil change places to use the oil they claim they use. Instead of putting Mobile One in your car, they are using some cheap oil. Who's going to go to a lab to get their oil analyzed?

People run 30 year old cars without ever getting an oil change across the Congo in rivers and over boulders every day for hundreds of miles at a time.
Worry less about the oil that is just fine and worry more about the shitty car you bought

It was easy back in the day. Pull over the ditch and crawl under. Pour the oil around the house pillars to keep termites away.

Not crawling under a car in the heat to save $50 bucks, have not changed oil myself in 40 years, but I will replace a radiator, water pump, or other bolt on parts if it saves $400 or more.
