Murders per capita

Chris I literally googled this in less than 1 minute and BR is number 6

quote:

The murder rate in Baton Rouge is 31.72 per 100,000.

Bonus trivia - Texas arrived on the list with BEAUMONT at 38.

Want to know how many Louisiana cities ranked before Beaumont?

If only it were only that easy. Most of the crime could be easily solved, but then we'd all be the ones in jail.

atrongly suggest Huntsville, where there are four seasons and a whole lot fewer drivers. Mountains. Hunting and Fishing. People who still care about their neighbors.

Houston has a huge number of people, lots of international opportunity, and summers that feel thirteen months long. What that minor hurricane did several years ago made a mockery of the two reservoirs that were supposed to hold back flood waters.

Live on a hill side and never fear flooding again

Brether, there is a reason every out of city & out of state person that goes to lsu leaves immediately after graduation. Even Huntsville sounds like paradise compared to BR

well avoid Shreveport and for that matter New Orleans....Lake Charles probably....Monroe...

all of these cities are in the same boat...out of control crime and leadership that couldn't care as long as they are getting their palms greased.

This is going to come to your doorstep soon enough at this rate

A pregnant woman that lives in my neighborhood got robbed at gunpoint and got her car stolen. This neighborhood is in what is considered a safe part of BR. It's not coming to our doorsteps, it's already at our doorsteps. So happy I left for college and probably won't be coming back. Get out while you can

What kind of engineer and what industry?

I’m a mechanical engineer in chemical. Just moved to Houston from BR in September. Always stuff going on around here.

I’ll fully admit I have a strong anti-Houston bias, but fleeing Baton Rouge for Houston just seems silly to me. To me it’s just a bigger, much more put together BR with all of the same problems. I would definitely pick Huntsville

You might want to talk to some people in Jackson, MS to see how their endeavors turned out in that regard. Monroe is another good example. People flee for a reason.

If you guys would just sign up for your share of shifts on the Neighborhood Watch, we wouldn't be in this predicament. I have a lot of available time slots this weekend, so PM me to sign up and do your part!

No large companies can pay their current employees enough to move here and it's mainly because of the schools and how they are in the shitter. Slapping magnet on schools in the high crime areas isn't going to bring those investors in. The city is literally trying to con businesses into it doing that.

The 2016 flood also showed that the southeastern side of town is not good land to build a business on.

The crime is only getting worse and is just the icing on the cake. The national story of Shaq having to come in and pay the funeral costs of a three-year-old killed by gunfire is the perfect example of what this city needs and the state it's currently in.

Shaq should run the city, honestly. At least he could unite it and wouldn't just profit off of its divide. He wouldn't need to. Call it crazy, but this city isn't turning around without a rich benefactor coming in and running shite. All the other politicians just get in to whore the system out to their circles.
