Fake Manual Farrari

quote:

Ferrari 12 Cilindri Manuale First Look: Ferrari’s Fake Manual Is Brilliantly Real

quote:

We’ve entered the age of the blue pill automobile. First, Mercedes-AMG launches an electric car that makes you think you’re driving a rumbling, thundering V-8. Except you aren’t. And now Ferrari has launched a car with a stick shift and clutch pedal that makes you think you’re physically controlling the gears in its transmission. Except you aren’t. That car is the Ferrari 12 Cilindri Manuale. If you believe the only proper Ferrari is a Ferrari with a V-12 engine and a traditional manual transmission, it’s been designed and engineered to let you believe what you want to believe.

So did FCA/Stellantis or whatever the hell they call themselves with the new Charger.

I think maybe 7 people have bought one.

We would just use clothes pins to attach playing cards to our bicycles to make the noise while hitting the spokes.

It's kind of dumb, but not as dumb as the headline made it seem to me at first. It sounds like you're still selecting a sequential gear (up to 6th), you're still controlling when to change gears via the "clutch," and you can still throttle the gas to match revs. It has some anti-dumbass software just as any other semi-auto transmission does.

Would I buy it? No, but I'm also a middle class normie and not a potential Ferrari customer, so they didn't ask me.

Just another car they'll force people to buy to get to the good ones.

Fake engine sounds, at low speeds, are so pedestrians don’t walk in front of a quiet car.

That thumping sound you are hearing in the distance is old Enzo beating on his grave trying to get out. If he does, he is going to burn down the factory after he kicks every engineer's arse that had something to do with this.

My Acura TSX has a shifter mode that’s really stupid. I never use it.

They're making fake engine sounds in all kinds of vehicles now.

Ford fakes V8 sounds with their eco boosts (with the radio)

My wife's turbo 4 acura has fake engine sounds through the stereo.

Maybe the worst crime against humanity is ANY vehicle that "fakes" shifting.

Cars now stupid.

So did FCA/Stellantis

That was under a Portugues dickhead named Carlos Tavares that did a ton of damage to the US brands then was run out of town, months/years after he should've been. He probably got to keep a huge severance and equity package, too.

Tavares was so wrong for the job that he drove off Tim Kuniskis, the manager responsible for a lot of the cool muscle cars they've made in the last ten years. He retired to "spend more time with family" but magically came back a few weeks after Tavares got the boot.

Probably has something to do with remotely being able to disable ur vehicle being easier if its automatic transmission.
