Coaches are in a position of power/influence over their SAs. It’s funny to say “good for him he banged a hottie and now will get paid”
But there are several other cases where the abuse was much more damaging and the effects impact their entire life

Yes, because my 17 year old daughter isn’t stupid, and knows exactly what she is doing. Would I be upset? Yes, but I wouldn’t want the guy to go to prison. BTW, I currently have a 17 year old daughter.
Should the coach lose their job? Yes.

I’m amazed sometimes about our age laws.
At 16 we will call you responsible enough to drive a vehicle, but too naive to be in a relationship with someone a few years older than you. At 17 we say you’re old enough to watch an R rated movie without an adult, but not wise enough to handle a relationship from a teacher. At 18 we say you’re old enough to die for your country even if you don’t want to, yet you not mature enough to smoke or drink.

Wow, you had the up the stakes for a gotcha. I still wouldn’t want the guy to go to prison. Before the trial even got scheduled and before the baby is born my daughter would 18, a legal adult. She obviously likes the guy, and the guy’s only crime is he dated her a few months to early. Why would I want my grandkid’s father in jail, for the great sin of falling in love with his mother? It takes two to tango and a 17 year old knows what they are doing.
