The citizens of this city voted in the politicians who make these decisions. Live with it.

In the 1920s and early 30s it was common for Nazi SA members to be arrested for similar offenses only to have sympathetic judges dismiss the cases. Chalk this up to just one more item on an alarmingly growing list of how the rise of modern progressives in America mirrors that of National Socialists in post-WWI Germany.

It’s kind of difficult to prosecute without evidence. I wonder if the folks in Portland were recording and posting their crimes to social media like the dumb f*ck insurrectionists...

I won't lie. Surprised it's not 100%. It probably will be.

But capital protesters? Jail time.

It is. Their right to riot, loot, and burn in the name of social justice is far more important than your stupid property rights.

Your rights end where social justice begins.

Yep. Saw a statistic this AM that Portland Police respond to 2 shootings a day.

Eventually people will learn that cities with populations that vote for "progressive" ideals are nothing more than rat holes. Trump tried to tell this story when he was on his Baltimore shtick, but OMB and all that stuff.

With no guns and by letting America's newest hero walk away without injury during such a dangerous, malicious attack on authority. Funny how the only "murder" that day was carried out by an officer who isnt having his name spread all across the airwaves like every other cop that kills a perpetrator these days. Don't know what's more dangerous, the liberals or the people that blindly see past all the red flags that are out there for all to see.

Was there a specific reason for many of these? Accepting 2/3 and dismissing 1/3 for weak evidence, etc... might be less dramatic than this sounds

Looking at some of the ignorant, ill informed posts here...

It obviously depends on which side of the fence and news channels you watch to decide which riot was bad and which was mostly harmless and just patriotic.

But at least we can take solace that’s not a new phenomenon in politics.

Have to let them off. These people’s minds were poisoned at an early age by Dr Seuss.

Call me crazy, but once you reach the point of building being vandalized and burned, that’s a riot. And no matter what “cause” it purports to support or oppose, those taking part in said riot should face the full weight of the law. Period.

We are a nation of laws. And the only way for us to remain a nation of laws is for those laws to be administered blind of any political considerations.

No, we are a nation of laws that depend on your political ideology whether they're enforced or not.
