And the same people who believe MD Anderson hangs the moon would be aghast if they looked behind the curtain.

Not saying there isn't greed or wiggle room but you have to remember that every successful innovation has to pay pay for the 9 failed ones prior. This is especially true in Healthcare where there us a huge cost just to get to market.

This is similar to lithotripsy for kidney stones. I’d be worried about seeding the tumor, but I guess they know what they’re doing.

The big question is will big Pharma ever allow a cure for cancer?

Almost sounds like introducing a force that would cause free radicals to attack the non-native/biological cells.

Not sure what you are trying to say here but cancer is native and biological. Even if
You consider virally transformed cells, they are still native and biological. And free radicals aren’t really in the mix here, the type of cell death that this is supposedly causing is necrotic and immunogenic, hence the immune system component.
Sorry if you are giving a quote from a show or book and I missed it.
Liver tumors have been , in general, the first organ to try mechanical disruption techniques, like cryotherapy and chemo ablation, because of its location. This would be a monumental step forward if it is even just 5-10% effective and could stimulate a systemic immune response to provide treatment/protection to the rest of the body.
It would not be surprising to see in the future immune stimulating agents used in combination now that thus is FDA approved

You wanna ensure no one ever develops new medications or procedures? Because this is how you do it.

See, THIS is the type of research I love to see. Meanwhile, our universities are also wasting money on research so they can argue nonsense like how caveman women were better at hunting

I’m going to take the exact opposite side of this…

We live in a world were a bunch of genetically lucky dudes get paid tens of millions of dollars to play games…. When measured up against that type of value creation, I actually kind of like the idea that there is also a path for people who find genuinely helpful ways to save lives to also get financially rewarded for the good work they do. People who do that type of good SHOULD be rewarded for their work. I much prefer the idea of a doctor who saves ten thousand lives becoming a millionaire than of some insta-ho earning 7 figures for showing her tits on Twitter.

Now the obvious problem comes in with the blatant wholesale corruption of our system, wherein we are basically creating more sick people on purpose just so that pharma can get rich by treating the symptoms. So we do desperately need changes to the current setup. But at least at a philosophical level, when we have people who create medical advancements that are a genuinely positive thing for society, I’d like for us to have a way to financially reward them for that significant contribution to society.

This isn't much different than some things already out like RFA, and incredibly limited in scope and reach. Seems it would be less invasive than RFA but couldn't treat larger or deeper tumors.

It won't move the needle at all

Yep

They have a million medicines for whatever fake headache or whatever women get but the only cancer treatment for men is “cut your balls off”

Use of frequencies has been in the works for a while. Very interesting that the FDA even started due diligence on this.

Sincerely, I hope it works. Could theoretically be game changing, not only for patients, but also to the detriment of Pharma companies.

I had lithotripsy done on a kidney stone. Similar concept. Before insurances it was about 10k (10 years ago), so it is not like they are trying to gouge cancer patients.

Anybody ever tell you research costs a lot of money? Companies invest millions in research. We do at our university and we're state funded. We have 4 research labs with dedicated cancer research. Biggest cancer breakthrough we've had was using fungi.

Unfortunately, one of the members of the team spoke publicly about it before publication or something. I did not know if you do that, the research is considered void. That lab had to redirect their research because of it. I spoke to the lab manager, and he was not happy at all about it. Didn't know about things happened that way in research before this.

Crazy stuff.
