mean Calhoun? Technically Adairsville, in Gordon County? That's been open for a couple years.

No, I mean Forsyth. Monroe County. North of Macon. Off of Exit 181.

Nah man I get what you’re saying with the stats and shite but SC just doesn’t feel like the Deep South. It’s not the same as Georgia, Bama, Miss and Louisiana.

It's crazy to me that Greenville, SC is bigger than New Orleans, metro-wise.

Greenville, Anderson, and Greer is a pretty big swath of land without all the swamps, canals, lakes and river chopping it up. Honestly, especially since the build up of Greer starting with the BMW plant Greenville and Spartanburg are functionally one metro. In a way it should the the Greenville/Spartanburg metro with Greer in the middle. Anderson is not nearly as connected to them as they are to each other.

But Curtis 50 cent Jackson is building a media empire in Shreveport. OK, that was sarcasm but I'm interested to see if anything comes of it.

They are using a broad brush on that stat actually. Anderson is 25-30 miles down the road from Greenville and Greer is another 8-10 from Anderson.

But definitely more folks in the area then when I moved here from GA almost 30 years ago

My daughter (no pics) lives in the Foley-Daphne-Fairhope area. Crazy how fast that area is growing.

This is misleading, that growth isn't in Hammond it is in Ponchatoula.

I moved here as a political refugee from Chicago a bit over two years ago. A year later Charleston elected its first Republican mayor in 100 years. Probably a coincidence but I hope that trend continues.

The Northern transplants have made South Carolina more conservative believe it or not. The coast of SC (save for Charleston) is far more Republican than it used to be.

What a fricking shithole the entire area is. I don't know why people keep showing up. Stay away.

That's likely true but it doesn't work that way with metropolitan statistical area designations. Hammond is the largest city in Tangiapahoa Parrish and the entire parish's population including Ponchatoula is therefore included in the Hammond metro area.

Brunswick area is growing like crazy I actually prefer it to Savannah for several reasons. Real Estate there is also 25% cheaper for comparable properties.

Yeah I know, just saying those not familiar with the area will think Hammond is booming and it isn't. But the growth in Ponchatoula, especially eastside / Bedico area along Hwy 22 is insane.

Considering it's on pace to add 125,000 new residents between 2020 and 2030 I don't think that kind of messaging is working (or going to work)

For all these that show a positive...I mean...can it really be considered as a positive if you have just added new shite to the existing shite?

Charleston is a very libertarian city, more so than a liberal or conservative city.

New Orleans is surrounded by water on three sides. Doesn’t make urban sprawl easy.
